Charles, I appreciate your loyalty and passion for the people that work with/for you. That goes a long way into creating those around you a sense of what true love for fellow man means. Man of purpose and honor I salute you!
A lot of people in this comments section seem to be confused how Inside the NBA can continue without having the media rights. Same way that Dan Patrick, player-hosted podcasts, NFL Sunday Primetime and HBO Real Sports talk sports without media rights. They can discuss the game on a weekly show and not solely focus on that evening’s game - talk about teams rising/falling, player performances, etc. Getting permission to use highlights would be a plus, but not entirely needed
I totally respect Chuck, with all the money that he has …..he’s put the number one priority as other people being employed. On top of that he’s willing to take a pay cut so people can keep their jobs. Much respect Chuck!
In my opinion, I dont think Charles was ever going to retire. He's used retirement ploy in past contract negotiations with TNT. I think he tried to use it hear to apply some pressure on the NBA to not lose "Inside". It didn’t work, and ultimately, Charles' love for TNT and for getting paid ruled the day
I heard him on a podcast after he got his big contract saying he only did the long term deal to help tnt in there upcoming tv negotiations wit the nba and that he signed the long contract never intending on finishing the full deal out
Charles and everyone else doesn't care what you think about him wanting to retire before. He was angry and disappointed at the NBA like the rest of us. Who cares how serious it was. Wow, you are so good at knowing Charles from your computer.
It's certainly possible Amazon or ESPN or the NBA will hire the show to broadcast their show...certainly NBA tv would be stupid to miss this chance with a show that promotes their product so well and so much better than they could.
If they get highlight rights this will change sports forever. They will have better quotas and relevance then the networks that carry the actual games with much better cost structure.
@@REE_III I don't know buddy, I watch a lot of things on RU-vid, but for Television I think you need the highlights. I don't think Amazon or the major TV networks will give them up.
We have similar situation, here in Europe. The sports shows hosts lost their jobs because of loosing licence, so they start to do the new sports chanell on RU-vid and they doing great. You can do the same only in tv.
I wouldn't be surprised if TNT is doing one of 3 things. 1. Producing Inside The NBA for Amazon since they don't have personalities. 2. Producing Inside The NBA for ESPN, since Turner, FOX, and ESPN have that new app coming out. 3. Inside March Madness becomes Inside The NCAA and the show is on CBS college hoops all year.
Can Charles work with NHL Hockey? I always love his takes there. Of course since he would not be an expert on the NHL, it would have to be intermittent appearances. NHL on TNT will remain for awhile.
TNT better start using that RU-vid Channel for Inside the NBA. That way more people globally are able to watch the show. Not everyone has cable to watch Inside the NBA.
I’m not trying to be negative, but I’ll believe when I see it. A LOT has happen and go right for it to be possible. But like Chuck said, they have a year to figure it out.
Rights and licenses and stupid red tape destroy some of the best stuff in life and this show was one of them. Greed is what won not the fans it was players and NBA top brass greed
I’m confused about the NBA on TNT situation as it pertains to Inside The NBA. I understand they wouldn’t be able to have games on TNT because of the contract expiring, but they can’t have a sports show using highlights and discussing the NBA? Eff the games, I just wanna see the crew talk about the highlights and do funny, ridiculous ish per usual. I can watch the games elsewhere 🤷🏾♂️
@@tien90802 I don’t think it would work at Turner though because most people tuned in to watch their commentary in real time. The balance of the show and the game is what made it so good, in my opinion.
Why couldn't they just do an hour show that's literally just inside the NBA at the same times as before? Just without showing the game in the middle. Everyone will watch TNT pregame, go to NBC or ESPN for the game, then come back to TNT post game. They don't need a license just to talk about the NBA
im not sure...but I think Charle's number one priority is to keep Turner employees working. Overall, the NBA became WAY to WOKE for me....But since I love basketball, I'd watch TNT post game show. I think TNT can make it work.
Keep Barkley and get rid of Shaq. Unless you want to hear him lord over Barkley about his four rings or complain about him getting the MVP shaft from Steve Nash yet again.
What will Barkley and the guys actually DO, though? I LOOOVEE Barkley, but I don't know ANYONE who watches that show for ANYTHING except the basketball-based banter. R.I.P. Inside the NBA. Ang I love Barkley, but he keeps repeating himself. Dude needs a vacation.
Chuck has been played like a fiddle there will be no show after this year they simply said that so he would come back this year trust me Turner could careless about keeping anyone employed if it's not going to line their pockets
