Both hustled hard for the boards. And obviously Rodman had little else he focused on. If, Barkley played his entire career with Hakeem Olajuwon he'd have probably broke rebound records, streaks and feats.

That Sixers team had Dr. J, Mo Cheeks, Bobby Jones, Moses Malone, Bob McAdoo, Andrew Toney, Sedale Threatt and Terry Catledge. Not that they should have been favorites, but Charles Barkley (who is one of my all time favorite players) had enough especially if Charles had enough experience at that point that team was good enough to compete for a championship. That team had just won a championship with Hall Of Famers Dr. J, Maurice Cheeks and Moses Malone the year before Charles was drafted. So that team was not bad at all.
