Charles was the last to be cut from Bobby Knights NCAA '84 Olympic Team, Knight keep Hoosier disciple Steve Alford instead! For years Charles would say? If I had one wish! One wish only? I would like to be in the same room with BK for just 30 seconds........
@@AHealthySnack Bobby Knight had a hidden agenda against me! I was the 2nd best player there, It was obvious that he didn't want me there or on the Team! It was a joke, CB
@@doctorgarbonzo2525Barkley didn't listen to Coach Knight. That's why he got cut from the 84 Olympic Team. Bobby Knight asked him to lose weight. Barkley was heavy and outta shape. Bobby Knight even said I'll help you lose the first 20 pounds. Barkley actually gained weight in the Olympic camp so he got cut. Bobby Knight wanted him at 250 pounds. In the NBA after Moses Malone called Barkley fat & lazy he helped Barkley lose weight. Took Barkley from 300 pounds to 240. That was too light so Moses Malone said 250 pounds is your weight. That's exactly what Bobby Knight wanted him to get down to. Stop telling incomplete stories
"Nobody's been to the Super Bowl nine times who's over-rated." Classic Charles. Love the interview. Fell asleep and missed it during the live broadcast so glad to find it here.
The Dolphins also went to 3 straight Super Bowls in the 1970s. Their 17-0 undefeated season was the 2nd Super Bowl was in the middle of a loss and a blowout win
Chris6934, thank you! I was gonna say! I used to have the dough, (many years ago), to go to a lot of Laker games. Before seats were 500 bucks a pop. I was lucky enough to see Charles and the Sixers come to town. I remember when guys like you (Sir Charles), and AC Green flooded to Phoenix because you thought you were going to get a ring. In one of the Lakers very rare down periods. One thing, I can't stand Phoenix, but Chuck (if I may address you as that), you are the BEST! Pls say "hi" to Mag for me. 8-)
The hell is your problem with Phoenix? At least most Suns fans are legitimate fans. Lakers fans are notorious for being fair weather fans and for being more interested in Lakers apparel as a fashion statement.
Agreed. Joe Gibbs also won the Super Bowl in both strike years. THAT'S COACHING. Don Shula went to the Super Bowl with 4 or 5 different starting quarterbacks but Joe Gibbs accomplishment is the best
It's late in the NBA season guys. Where's Reggie, JVG, Mannix, or anyone who covers the game? Haven't we heard enough about Dan's amazing jump shot. How about Chris Haynes? How about give 25% of the coverage you give the NFL since you are a sports show. Even 15% is better than what you give now.
Dan, please stop asking every single guest on your show your poll question of "who will get a ring 1st, Taylor Swift or Travis Kelce getting another Super Bowl ring." This bit is really overplayed.
Love Me some Sir Chuck. ask a question and prepare Yourself for the Answer! he is straight up. He doesnt like the Warriors, but He usually gets burned...
Greatest tightend ever can't be on the sidelines for blocking plays. Blocking is part of being a "tightened" Chuck the patriots were in Superbowl 51,52,53 not that long ago so yah , guess you block out those loosing bets
An update for chuck - woodard doesn’t have the record any longer but is making up reasons to still have have it. And based on her recent comments doesn’t seem very nice.
Majority ownership is going cost $2.5-3 billion dollars to get into an NBA franchise expansion team. Charles is right by the way. If anything, despite the fact it is never going to happen, the NBA should contract by 4-8 teams. If done, the product would be so much more entertaining, competitive, and the most important, profitable. That said, they don't know that, and it will eventually make them 4th class citizens in US sports. Currently the NFL is king, with college NFL as a solid #2, and then the NBA, MLB, NHL, and Nascar, in that order. The NBA needs to stop thinking that their product is that entertaining. Trying to get more money by expansion is only going to reduce their overall bottom line. The initial cash influx will quickly become a net negative over the next 3-5yrs.
There a football player entering his 8th or 9th year of football. I understand loving a sport but if you can't stand out at 25/26/27 yrs old playing against 18/19/20 yr olds your bit making it to the NFL.
How isn’t Dan offended by Charles calling people idiots and fools in the media when he was one of the ones saying some of the stuff Charles was griping about 😂 Skip Bayless isn’t the only one who says the things he says but he gets labeled as the one who does.
Charles is sporting my glasses. I'm a geezer and wear this large, stupid looking eyewear because it's the only way I can see with any accuracy so I can compete with my younger guys at golf, pool, etc..
Old Dem dan. Having good old chuckles on. Both still dishing that liberal "stuff". How's everything working out for the "folks?" Chuckles, and Dem dan?
I wonder what Dem dan is going to talk about Monday? The high price of everything? The way the middle class is struggling to pay basic neccesites? The Nba? His buddy adam sandler? His depression? His Millions because of depression? His knee pain because of the Millions of dollars? On, and on, and on. GoodLuck Sheeple
It's funny... Charles is talking about these idiots.... danny's laughing...but he's talking about danny without saying it to his face... danny's always comparing... whose the goat?.whose the goat...and criticizing coaches decisions.
Cmon Patrick. He said Magic and Dionne Warwick. You're not even in the same solar system let alone the same galaxy as those two. Check your obviously over-inflated ego at the door. And before you pretend that you were only kidding, I heard your denigrating of Ken Jennings as host of Jeopardy insinuating if nit actually stating you would have been better. This despite you admitting you have not watched it since he took over. He's very good, and tho we won't know how good you may have been, I can assure you it wouldn't have been any better than Ken. You're ego is a sad commentary on your insecurities.
There's something ironic about Charles calling other people in the media idiots and jackasses when he himself say a lot of stupid things. A recent example is another unprovoked dig at Durant. He just can't seem to get that dude out of his head. The funny thing is when KD's face to face with him, he doesn't bring any of this uo.
Women's college basketball is barely competitive now, so comparing Caitlin's record to an era where the game was far less competitive really isn't a fair comparison. And when I say the game is barely competitive I'm saying that there's a big spread in talent between top 25 teams and those outside of it. The amount of really good women's teams is far less than the men's game and that disparity was even greater back in the era when those other ladies mentioned played.
How would you know the level of competition for women's college basketball during those years? Were you a reporter or columnist for women's college ball in the '70s and '80s? Did you coach any of the women's teams? I seriously doubt you possess the credentials to discuss, intelligently, this topic. Additionally, both Moore and Woodard got their points without any threes.
@@bubufubu Were you a reporter or columnist for women's college ball in the '70s and '80s? Did you coach any of the women's teams? Moore is probably a different story, but Woodard? You honestly believe the talent pool was deeper in the late 70s and early 80's than it is today? How many schools had programs then? We're not talking men's basketball, we're talking women's. A sport, by the way, that didn't have an NCAA championship until 1982.
@@acebragg5559 I'm not the one making comparisons. _You_ are. If you don't possess the credentials, then you have no business making such statements. Fewer schools with basketball programs could have resulted in a higher quantity and quality of talent for each team. It's not as if humans didn't have the means to travel in the '70s. Your original comment is typical of online users who trash leagues, players, and accomplishments of yesteryear. The AIAW held a tournament for ten straight years (1972 - 1982). The winners from those years are, in fact, recognized as national champions.
@@bubufubu Common sense would dictate that the pool of women's players in the 70's, when the ERA was just a thing, wouldn't be as deep as today. But whatever.
@@acebragg5559 You're commenting out of ignorance and attempting to frame your assumption as "common sense". Bottom line, you have no idea how good or bad female college basketball players and teams were during the '70s.
Even if that's true the majority of the time, it doesn't take away from the facts that American Football is a _team_ sport and Belichick had _a lot_ to do with their success.
