You don't have to be that brave to be a football player, that's just something non-football players think.......but you do have to be brave to be a punt returner, with people running at you full speed while you look up at the sky.......also, I guess there's a little bravery when a huge player is running at you, and you're on defense and you gotta make the tackle. But you have pads and a helmet on, and you're hyped up, so it doesn't really hurt, even if you get run over (you can still make the tackle even if you get run over)......in reality, you rarely feel anything during the game.

Haha RIGHT ON!! That was a legit boxing technique dodge that takes training to learn (most people reactively turn their head from the punch...which means you can still get it. You're supposed to duck or dodge into the punch like Chuck did when Shaq's big fist was coming through...

I remember when seeing Charles Barkley his freshman year practicing at Long Beach city college in my hometown of Long Beach California when I was a kid in the early 80’s I think. They were playing in the NCAA tournament that year at the Long Beach Arena.
