Charles was such a raw talent . It's wild how ahead of his time he truly was because he was clowned and looked at strange at the time but lot of the shit he was doing is considered so normal in rap today ( painting your nails black , emo punk rock style , anime/video game references, a mixtape every month, making sad heartbreak music , streaming with fans ) It's really something that he was made fun of for the things that every rapper does now
my favorite part of this video is kendrick doesn't leave after he spits, he stays next to charles soaking up the attention like he knew he deserved it haha classic moment
I love how C. Hamilton challenged everybody about the instrumental...and got it wrong. Big L and Jay Z ripped it, but the instrumental was Miilkbone's "Keep it Real." The REAL real hip hop heads know... Both of them got off though, frfr.
Charles didn't seem rehearsed, he was truly in free thought, I felt every other M.C. was trying to speak to an audience, Charles spoke for himself. He even did wordplay on himself. I like M.C.'s who humanize themselves.
So I just stumbled upon this today and I was fucking shocked. I was like, "Holy FUCK. That's K.DOT!" He murdered that shit, but he did spit a written. Charles let him spit for a good 2-3 minutes and then came back strong with a FREESTYLE off the dome. Much respect to both of these artists though. Kinda crazy how Kendrick is sitting on top now and Charles is trying to find himself again. I really hope CH gets it together and a collaboration with Kendrick would be fucking ILL.
Charles is in Harlem living life, still making music and putting it out here and there. He's unsigned and has a small loyal fanbase, and he doesn't plan on getting back into the music industry again because he says that would be "sacrificing his own happiness". Music is basically his life though, he makes beats all day on his mpc and chills
No matter what video I watch of Kedrick Lamar rapping, the crowd always have the same reaction. You can tell everyone instantly digs his flow and rhymes by judging their facial expression.
Boy Dot been hating and waiting to shine before Drake. Know he was ready asf during the blog era knowing he could rap better than folks with bigger buzz
Funny how Charles Hamilton disses cats for not knowing whose beat it is, and then he doesnt know it himself. Says it's Big L and Jay-Z...yes they spit on it on a freestye. But it is Milkbone's Beat to "Keep It Real"!
Bro after what L and Jay did to that beat, it's completely acceptable. Their freestyle on that beat is far more well known and legendary than the original, even if Milkbone was good
@@brashadcarr6759 That's a fucking lie, The C4 mixtape was released 2 days before this video was posted online. I'll never understand why niggas cap for cats they dont know in real life. That shits weird bruh..
Y'all know that'd Kendrick Lamar right ??....I fucked wit Charles Hamilton real heavy back then *pause*....but even then Charles knew Kendrick was gon be a problem !!
@@perc3072 nigga couldn't wait to light a Jay and eat them fruity pebbles lol. Hell this event prolly inspired Cartoons & Cereal for all we know. Was like Kanye having nervous breakdowns like damn these niggas that much better than me? Lol I'm glad there's footage of this tho.
Charles was in dots head. 8 mile shit. He mocked dots flow. Basically saying even if you have a “perfect flow” I’ll still be #1 cuz I come off top regardless. Play it back 🤷🏿♂️. Peep dots energy. Both legends, I’m just high 👋
What you niggas actin like Charles aint been perfectin his own craft. like he hasnt been making music constantly. i listen to both and Charles is FAR superior Musically and Lyrically
Man it breaks my heart that he went thru the shit he went thru. He'd EASILY be up there with Kendrick and Drake and Cole... you know, the guys in his XXL Freshman class.
Bennchoumy, the Haitian Mc at the end says to use this hip hop platform and say NO NO and NO to what the Dominicans are doing to MY HAITIAN peeps on their own island...
Charles Hamilton fell off. Ive been listening to Kendrick since 08' and hes a lyrical monster. Literally, the west coast Nas. Listen to look out for detox and see for yourself. Plus his CLASSIC album. GKMC is an artwork from start to finish and his "mainstream" songs fit into the narrative of his album.
Thought today wtf happened to Charles Hamilton?!? read this article with B.O.B saying that he ended up in a mental hospital because the industry messed his head up and he lost it.He also said he chose 2 go himself and make things right, legitimately ruined my day! Music needs people like him. In a interview after the hospital he said 'if I don't like who I see in the mirror, you just won't see me.' that was a year ago so I think he's gone for good :( damn
Charles Hamilton… the only other guy I’d ever put in a class with Kanye & RZA, none other like him. Damn this footage was crazy. I’ve never seen this one and I had a whole fan phase. Classic
i fuckin love it. i saw this video when it first came out. if only charles or any of us knew that lil dude standing next to him would turn out to be the multi platinum selling icon he is today
HueyEscobar56 The other writers are from the producer of the instrumental, as well as the songs sampled on the instrumental www.whosampled.com/sample/174425/Kendrick-Lamar-Bitch,-Don%27t-Kill-My-Vibe-Boom-Clap-Bachelors-Tiden-Flyver/
Kinda ironic how everyone refers to Kendrick Lamar as "K-Dot" as if they been bumpin dude since his highschool days. Fuck outta here dawg, Kendrick go hard either way though. Respect.
That first rapper is amazing!! His rhymes are so much better then Hamilton's and Kendricks. We need to hear more of him! He definietly won this battle.
