The end of every video: “After his death, he was buried in the Cathedral of St. Denis. During the French Revolution his remains were desecrated and thrown into a common pit. Thank you for watching.” 😳 (Please don’t change a thing. I love these videos)
Well I'm not much into 'fluff' such as, subscribe, and this is to come, and that, and hit the notification bell, and do such and such. I like to stick to the point lol. And sadly most of them were thrown into a pit lol... But not ALL of them ! Although they did all die of course lol. Thanks for watching !!!!
Hi, great historical video I enjoyed it can't wait to see more soon. Your historical videos are always enjoyable and relaxing. Have a great day see you next video 😀
I remember reading a biography about Charles IX. There were funny anecdotes about his childhood with Henri III: once they dressed as priests and began to ride a donkey inside the castle, going as far as the chamber of their mother who was talking to a priest. She should have been mad at the joke (especially considering the religious tensions at the time) but she couldn't help herself but to laugh! There is also the fact that he was a fan of the Poet Ronsart and even wrote a poem himself to praise the poet. His reign and in general the reign of his siblings were complicated by the religious wars, with very powerful extremists on both side, members of the royal family included. Trying to keep peace in a country where two factions were at each other's throat is not easy, and the Valois kept switching from one side to another (Amboise conspiracy, wedding of Marguerite and Henri of Navarre, Saint Bartholomew's massacre, murder of Guise...)
@@lillineviellewasherelmao hey It's good to see you btw I just downloaded on my PC another collection by Ser Peter Lely The so called Flagman of Lowestoft commissioned by James Duke of York (James II and VII)
@@lillineviellewasherelmao and btw about The Windsor Beauties yes at least 1 of them namely Barbara Palmer had a long relationship (and 5 kids) whit Charles II and another one Francess Stewart refused to be his lover but the collection The Windsor Beauties itself was commissioned by Anne Hyde first wife of James II (and VII) not by The Marry Monarch himself
This was very interesting. Thank you! You tell a bit of Marie Elisabet of France. Is she the same girl who died at the age of five, four years after her father. Or did they have another daughter with the same name?

Catherine ; the mother of Charles finally ordered the death of my ancestor Gaspard de Cologny We the descendant of his second wife now live in Canada ( through his grand son Phillip Mius who came to Nova Scotia in Canada. We are still French 😊
I think the King Charles never forgive himself for having ordered the murder of my ancestor de Coligny to whom he was attached : and therefore having also provoked the st Barthélémy massacre…. Well his mother Catherine was actually the one who “ counciled “ him. Basically a murderess but in those days it was not seen as such.
