In this public lecture - the fourth in a series on South Australia’s Premiers and democracy - Professor Alan Reid AM explored the big changes in democratic practice that occurred between 1885-1900 in South Australia. He focused particularly on Charles Kingston, the controversial character who bestrode the political scene in the last decade of the nineteenth century.
