A vinyl rip of Charles Lloyd's 1979 album, Koto, from 1979 on ADC Records. The first release of newly recorded material on ADC, the album lulls you into a trance of eastern-influence ambience with rich low-end texture to fill out the soundscape. This album is especially sought after in Lloyd's discography due to its high musical quality despite the scarcity caused from ADC Records likely pressing relatively few copies.
This album was also released (reissue?) on Unity Records the same year, renamed Pathless Path, and this version is where this needledrop is sourced from. I have rips of both versions and I compared them whilst I was working on declicking Pathless Path. This album does technically exist on streaming, but the source used sounds like a low quality mp3 submerged in water, which ruins the listening experience.
(Thank you Pat for providing the rip & scan of Koto, and thank you KV for ripping Pathless Path!)
