*a note from the video* - the Black Panthers were referred to in the video as a local "gang" as inspired by several contemporary reports which misrepresnted/categorized the group, their activities, and their beliefs. A modern, more accurate, and proper definition for the group is a revolutionary organization with an ideology of Black nationalism, socialism, and armed self-defense, particularly against police brutality. Though not touched on long on the video, it's an important clarification that I wanted acknowledge and substantiate.

When he started going on about "I don't know pain, I don't know ridicule," I think he was being sarcastic. He got energized because I think he was insulted by the question of if he liked causing others pain because _he_ went through pain too. Almost like a "well no one cared when I got hurt, why should I care about them getting hurt" mentality. Like if someone was complaining about how their life was so much worse than their friend's and the friend sarcastically says "right, cause I've never had a rough day. I've never cried. I've never struggled." That's the vibe I got from it. I think deep down he considers himself the world's victim. Like no one understands that _he's_ really the one suffering.
This is totally right. He got raped as a young boy, he had a few guitar ideas stolen from the Beach Boys and he was told his entire life that he was worthless, amongst many other things. Eventually he lost his mind and became the nutcase we all know and love nowadays. He wasn't always fucked but he went insane and after that's it's all he knew
Im sorry, Im sorry, I know this isn’t a funny subjects but some moments in this interview really is 😂 ”Did you kill Shae?” - heeeell nooo i didn’t kill Shae.. ”Did you cut a human ear off?” - heeeell n… yes. Yes I did 😂😂😂
I just wanted to say thank you for including captions WITHIN the video. I wish more creators would do the same. The auto captions are nice but not always accurate.
But his first "oh I don't know pain" etc etc was sarcastic, and said to imply the idea: "the pain you're accusing me of causing is nothing compared to what I've been through so don't come to ME with that".
Oof! That interviewer did _not_ hold back with his questioning. Props to him! If I was sitting in front of Manson, I'd be sh*tt*ng bricks! Great analysis as per usual, Logan! Keep up the great work! I love the longer style body analysis vids.
I did think I saw a moment of the real Manson when the interviewer mentioned his son. He stopped all his twitchy moving about and quit hiding behind his hair, and looked directly at the interviewer. Just for a second.
Kinda disagree with you about when he said he didn’t know pain, Im pretty sure it was sarcasm. He seemed like he was feeling contempt for the interviewer (as a representative of the world) and was sarcastically trying to show that we have never felt the pain he’s felt. Could be wrong, I’m no professional but that’s the vibe I got.
@@mcardleh0813 and they weren't global either. They were an American civil rights group - they were more militant than Dr. MLK, but they were around the same time.
49:43 for those who missed it. right here Manson reveals how his mother used to talk to him. from this, you can see that he probably grew up being told this same thing that he infers God would say to him in this scene he depicts. This is the treatment he expects from everyone: "why you bugging me with this? Go do it yourself." his mom didn't like to deal with him at all and even probably blamed him for having needs, and DARING to ask her for help. and he internalized that message very deeply... and twisted it to the perspective you see here.
I felt when he said "I don't know pain" it was an almost sarcastic jab back at being accused of causing pain, not an inconsistency in his thoughts. As in, "I've caused pain, and what, pain hasn't been caused to me my whole life? This is the way of the world." He does do the jumping inconsistently a lot, but I felt that wasn't one. Who knows.
That Gary Hinman situation was over a drug burn where Bobby Beausoleil of the family sold a bunch of drugs to a biker gang (Straight Satans?) the bikers felt ripped off and it all ultimately fell back on Charlie, after Bobby B couldn't get Gary H to cough up the money, Charlie shows up,chops off Gary's ear and told Bobby to finish it or leave, and BB finished the job, from what I understand.
Excellent video. Manson is one of the many people that made me become so fascinated in human behavior. Also, Edmund Kemper, who I believe you have done a video on as well. Keep up the fantastic work. I really enjoy this specific type of content that you do regarding serial killers and cult leaders. Cheers!
@@Lenastar23 I'm still constantly surprised how old some of these "kids" are who don't know people who were household names in my time. I'm the same me I ever was and yet it appears I'm ancient now. hehehe
His name is Tom Snyder!!!! The idiot (no 'e') analyzing this can't be bothered to look up a fkng NAME to show some damn respect to a media LEGEND!!! He also can't be bothered to properly pronounce words with more than four syllables! I'm starting to think he's making up all his analyses.
@@millville she still despises me 😂😂😂 even though I no longer work with her, every time I walk in she runs away. Like damn, sorry I wouldn't let you get away with things 🤷🏼♀️
I’m so bummed the Manson video didn’t get more views! I’m shocked! For me, the Manson family story is one of the most bizarre, fascinating, interesting stories out there. SO INTERESTING getting Logan’s insights here.
Am I the only on to notice that right after the interviewer asked if he sent people into the house to kill he went mmhmm? So in a way he answered without directly saying yes or no.
Wow...Manson is so intense! He is fascinating, and scary at the same time ... He's definitely got the Crazy going on! Can't imagine what it must've felt like to be in that rather small room interviewing him!
at the start of this video all i can think is tell me you watch Shane and Ryan without telling me, you present yourself just as Ryan would very clear and informative. this isn't a complaint i appreciate it.
Are you sure he’s just not getting hot? I’m assuming they have filming lights around them. Even if they don’t, it could just be hot, jails have concrete walls and or cinder block walls. Those trap heat
To me, in the interview section where he talks about knowing pain, that part makes sense. He'd just been asked if he was afraid of death, which is one of the most core fears for most living things. So talking about that fear is tied in with the same place as talking about pain, etc. That fear is painful. At first, when he said he didn't know [fill-in-the-blank negative thing], I thought he was going to say it was because he's never known anything else. His whole life was fear, pain, etc. Then, when he went on, I realized he was being sarcastic. He just didn't learn how to communicate that clearly.
The way Manson moves at times doesn't make me think of someone trying to nervously avoid a question, but like a predator stalking around his prey. It sets off my anxiety, even I was getting worried for the interviewer. I feel like Manson is playing with him, just like a predator would do.
When he was talking about being in jail his whole life. I think he was talking about how he is in a mental prison inside his mind, and that its been like that his whole life. A lot of these things he’s saying have a deeper meaning to it tbh. Its so sad and dark
He could've been a great stage actor, and on film. That thing he did with the chair, going back, fixing the chair, one hundred percent focused. That's such a boss theatre move, holding the audience in suspence with an intense and perfect timing. That's page one drama school stuff he just pulled out of his ass.
This is wonderful! I think you have such a wonderful grasp on some heavy subjects. I'm still going to ask for Stephen McDaniels. He still freaks me out more than this.
I think you should read the book Chaos by Tom ONiell. Its a book with over 20 years of research into Manson behind it and incriminating the CIA for being the ones who created the monster. Its absolutely epic. Genuinely amazing. The audiobook is available too if you prefer that but DEFINITELY look into it. It is WILD.
Charles Manson was promised a record deal. He was a talented musician. He was promised he’d be able to front his own band, rather than write music for others including the beach boys. And when the record producer made fun of him that night and said “Charlie baby, you got talent, but you’re too short to front a band, but come to the party tonight, there’s gonna be girls and drugs.” So when he went home and he told his “girls” which were his groupies they went crazy (on his behalf) and they did what they did, most people don’t know that Charles Manson didn’t technically kill anyone with his own hands.
PLEASE DO BABY REINDEER. The woman who is the REAL Martha Scott did an interview with Piers Morgan and I'm just not so sure about any of it. I'm begging!!
Please review the fiona harvey interview on pierce morgan uncensored if you can. Would be super interesting to see your take on the body language etc, love ur vids ❤️
Eeek. Makes me realize how eerily similar my dad and Mansons personally is. Down to the degradation of his mental state as he gets older. My dad just didn’t have homicidal tendencies
@@IWantToRideMyBike He was in prison for conspiracy to commit murder. Even Sharon Tates mother and family didn't hold Manson responsible they always said Tex Watson and the women were responsible . The whole Helter Skelter tripe and nonsense has long since been debunked. Terx and the Girls probably wanted money or drugs
WELL WELL WELL! I didn’t know Manson was imprisoned so close!! That’s crazy, I’ve always know McNeal island was a prison, just didn’t know he was there!
Poor Logan, hes like just shoot me now😂😂😂 Ive never taken the time to learn about Manson as its such a creepy rabbit hole, so thank you for doing this!!! 🎉
I used to be friends with a woman who I found out from another friend that she was visiting Manson in prison. I didn't believe him so he said check her fb. I did she had photos up! I trusted this woman to watch my kids! needless to say I dropped that friendship like a led balloon!!!!
Okay: this is Tom Snyder-a very well known news man from the time, and I wish you had named him. Manson was a very scary and insane person. When he stood up and started walking around, I am sure Mr Snyder was nervous. I remember the first time I saw Manson was on the cover of the book, Helter Skelter. The original cover had a picture of him where the real horror crazy of him showed. He was It in a beard and long hair. Thanks, Logan.♥️✌️
I would like to just throw my 2 cents in on a part when hes talking about pain so here are my thoughts. He was asked if he feels bad for the pain he has caused so he answered in such away basically sarcastically like i feel know pain ect. As in why the F you not ask what i feel because then he goes into i know pain alot of pain basically i have suffered my whole life noone gave a sh*t but you people care about these people
"The interviewer"?? - _TOM SNYDER_ , dude!! One of the major (with his own personal share of controversy) media figures of the 1970s & '80s -Really, would you refer to a Carl Sagan appearance merely with, "the scientist"? Or feature Barbara Walters or David Frost merely as "the interviewer" instead of ever naming them, for that matter? -Especially in such a high-profile & singular exchange. The non-attribution here is just inexplicable.
I think you misunderstood something... When Manson says he doesn't know pain I very much believe he's being sarcastic. If you empathize with his point of view in this situation- having just talked about spending 70% of his life behind bars- asking him if he knows the pain he caused *without acknowledging his own pain* is what I think this outburst is about. I think this is a very clear sign of his narcissism- following his own internal logic. It makes sense that he'd then talk about knowing pain intimately. Just a different take. Having had narcissistic parents, I caught the indignant sarcasm of that outburst almost immediately. If you re-watch that segment with this in mind, perhaps u'll agree! Edit: sry this is roughly at 15:20.
How could Manson not have been prepared on the kind of questions he was gonna get? If that LaBianca question was really that surprising for him and he went in unprepared for it, then I'm really questioning his intelligence.
Aileen Wournos (sp?)!!!! Please?!? I find people like her and Jeffrey Dahmer so much more interesting- they are so much more self aware. I think it'd be such a crazy contrast between her and Manson - someone who seems to mostly tell the truth next to someone who avoids the truth at all costs, ya know?😊
You should also analyze the video where he was interwiewed by Diane Sawyer. He acted differently when talking to her, and you can see clearly that he tried to manipulate her and use the same techniques on her that he did to his "family".
Manson frustrates me too. Lol. However he's good to learn from. Interesting that he's afraid of being alone & possibly dying. Those little hints he made tell a lot.
"I'm not a cult leader" then proceeds to call them literal "followers" a few sentences later ("no cult, just the followers and kids on the ranch"😭) what else were they possibly following when women are supposed to stay silent and listen to the man?? 🤦 Did he realize how much he consistently contradicts himself? Is that why he kept trying to talk so fast and switch subjects constantly?? In hopes that people wouldn't be able to keep up with his broken logic 😅... Maybe if I watched videos of him while he was younger, maybe I'd have been more easily convinced but he's never reminded me of anything other than a bad/failed actor
Since when do content creators owe us an explanation of their personal lives? What does his personal life have to do with us? Watch the video or don’t. Good grief.
@@danybritt4832I’ve noticed in every one of his last videos these types of questions. These people need to mind the business that pays them. Geez. It’s terrible. It’s one thing if it’s in the papers he got arrested but it’s just 1 person lobbing allegations at him.
@@fallyneprinciotta9058 I wasn’t even aware of the allegations until I saw this comment and went searching. I just think it’s silly that people think they deserve for him to explain his personal life. She might be cool with putting her business out there but clearly, he’s not. I watch his videos for the content. Not for anything else. If he wants to talk about his personal life, cool but that’s not what I’m here for. If you pay attention to him you can tell he’s going through something. He’s not wearing his ring anymore, he doesn’t smile as much, he just seems like he has a lot going on, he’s a little unkempt (not that I’m complaining, I’m just making a point), etc. But he hasn’t mentioned it so why try to force him to talk about it? And why immediately be on the other persons side just because he hasn’t addressed it? I wouldn’t bother explaining myself either if these are the types of people who you’re trying to explain yourself to.
@@danybritt4832 your absolutely right. They did make a video right after the separation announcement. But then she posted a video with all their business out there. It was messy.
I think "I don't know pain" was sarcastic and was pushing away the question, with great disgust, about the pain he has caused other people. He is incapable and uncomfortable with the pain of others. Low, low empathy. Narcissistic but also nearly oppositional defiant.
Logan, I'll tell you like my dad always told me. You're not supposed to understand people like that. That's what makes them dangerous psychopaths and you normal.
Once again, Logan, I'm not sure you're qualified to do an analysis of this kind. Your analysis seems to consist of pointing out the obvious features of the interaction before laying out a vague hypothesis about what it might mean while speaking as though your view is fact. A few Ekman training certs (which amount to watching prerecorded video and little else) don't cut the mustard here. You could do a lot of good with your following by actually enrolling in a course and taking people along for the ride, instead of trying to maintain an image as an expert before you're ready.
I watched the whole video you posted on the Observe channel. It was a whole lot of nothing. You contradicted yourself so many times. To be frank, your comments and video come off as obsessive. If you're so pissed off, why do you keep coming back to this channel? Block it and move on with your life.
@@samr1013 I'd be interested to know what my contradictory statements were. I'm not obsessed with Logan, but I do make a point of returning to his videos to ask him the questions he needs to be asked. I appreciate that you might enjoy his content, but it's subtly damaging. In the research community, we regard channels like Logan a problem that requires addressing. Misinformation can cause real problems.
