I remember the day when my mom took me to the store to buy Super Mario 64. When I went home to play it, I heard this guy's voice as mario and I thought it was so awesome! I still do by the way. This video was epic because I got to actually see the voice behind one of my favorite childhood video game characters. Charles Martinet, you are the heart and soul of Super Mario Bros. and a Nintendo icon. Thank you for making my childhood awesome.
WoW, this guys is soooo much fun!!! Hes so talented too, did not know he did the voice acting for so many char!! Respect, Really... He should get a prize or something!!
oh man I knew this guys named since 96 but I didn't see a photo of him till round late 90's or 2000 in a UK N64 magazine. I've nearly met this guy in a London GAME store where he was signing New super mario bros DS game cases. the man is a legend I love doing mario characters voices with random lines and other silly characters to. with voice acting you need good motion acting to for the voice to come out good to. Charles Martinet you are a god.
I think he's the perfect voice for Mario! I remember when the 64 came out (i think I was 5), I finally got to hear Mario's voice. I also remember not being able to figure out exactly what he said when he tosses Bowser. "So long, ??? Bowser!" A question that bugs me to this day... (Btw the mystery word isn't "gay" like a lot of people say, of that I'm sure)
Martinet is Mario basically if martinets lungs or vocal cords come to a micro phone where in 1 of those auto tune helping record label rooms are with the mic from the sealing and the thick bullet proof sound proof glass room with the door they would basically end when he ends and would put every auto tuned or regular lyric from his voice onto the game and before releasing the games they would commercial them with yet another auto tuned sentence by the same guy with the same voice that no one has
This is the second interview of this I watched. During the first interview, released about a day ago, he said almost everything he said here verbatim. He obviously loves this role, and probably doesn't ask for much. I wonder how much Nintendo pays him
This is THE REAL voice of Mario. No offense dude but I love the 3 Mario cartoons too(I have a lot on DVD and I watch em on Netflix) He voices Mario in the video games. I think this man does a FANTASTIC job as voicing Mario. He also voices Baby Mario,Baby Luigi,Wario,Waluigi,Baby Wario,Luigi,Toadsworth, and Wart. Although I don't agree on your opinion or like it I respect what you have to say.
charles martinet is coming to nyc, to do a mario galaxy 2 pre launch party, he will sign autographs, play mario galaxy 2 with us before the game is even out and more. i saw my email invitation for club nintendo members only right after school. i had to click the rsvp button to enter... "Thank You For Your Interest, Gabriel, But The Event Is Now Full"... Damn It.
they should do like with the computer's voice over and make him record all the words in the dictionary to make sure his voice will live for ever no matter what they want Mario to say in the future!
@HooplaDay Did you even watch the video? He's the voice of many mario characters, meaning you need people that have the exact voice of every character..
Bite me, Super Mario 64 was the first game I played. Much like several fans believe the true voice of Ash Ketchum is Veronica Taylor, Charles Martinet will be the true voice for me, just like Lou Albano will be the true voice for you.
It's actually fantastic that he's a jolly person in real life and not some grumpy shit head who does it just for the money... maybe that's why the Mario characters are genuinely lovable
