The way we see it, is that all expenses come from the household money. If she were to take on a full payment for the mortgage, at some point down the road I'm making up for it. His logic was he wanted me to get out the military and go back home to a slum for him to feel adequate with no realistic plan. I wasn’t a fool. That led to divorce and I raised my boys alone for the next 17 years. Became a RN after my retirement and I’m at peace with my autonomy. Marriage is not necessary these days and we all know deep within who really benefits the most. My Dad told me to NEVER depend on a man and to have my own because men are manipulative and lazy and desire to do less while watching you really break your back. Men don’t deserve legacy or putting their names on a kid when you’re providing outside the home and expected to do most of the work in the home and with the children.
