Thank you Charlie. You an Ewan are one of the biggest reasons why i started to look for adventures in life and just 2 days ago i took my Motorcycle license. so thans for all the insperation you give.
Triumph make incredible, beautiful and elegant motorcycles and their triples are addictive! Stick to your guns, work hard and apply yourself and you'll get there!
@@bchandy98 highly recommend. And I'm a massive Honda fan. For the street, you have a well balanced suspension, good power delivery. You have torque with a good amount of revs. It almost is really the best of both worlds. (Twin and inline 4) Brakes are nice and beefy. Looks like DC black manta 😆. If I was to be picky, I would say it's annoying to have to pull the clutch to start the engine.
I had the 2013 street triple R and loved it. One thing that really stood out to me in this video was when you talked about the display. Its incredibly easy to see and read even from a video like this.
What fantastic looking machine. I can tell how enjoyable it must be just by the way you look at it. It's the same way I stare at my bike in the garage just before I'm convinced to take it out. Excellent review.
I had a tiger years ago, made me fall in love with triumph motorcycles, the triple engine sound, the sensation of a well made machine, and the attention to detail… Had to sell my tiger during the pandemic because of economics issues… The moment i can buy a triumph again will be the moment i'll know i had overcome all the problems im facing… It will be the moment of triumph
Great to see Charlie enjoying bikes especially on this beast, but I have to say, this is the best combination of helmet and mic I think I've heard - superb blend of quality and soundproofing, really clear delivery.
Great review Charlie, I’ve always loved that bike. I’ve been a huge fan of triumphs for years. Your so lucky to get a ride on it. The bike sounds awesome and looks better than it’s competitors in my mind 👍🏻
Really looking forward to this - hope you are well Charley. Would be amazing if you could test the new Street Triple next to compare the two for delivering fun on the street.
Didnt know you had a RU-vid channel Charley. Really loved you from the trips you did with Ewan way back. Subbed - really good to see you on here. Going to get my bike license this year. Woooo!
I love my 2022 Speed Triple RS. Suspension is a bit stiff but you can tune it to be pretty great on the street. My best mod was a pair of Michelin Power 5 tires. Changes the bike in such a nice way for street riding. Plenty of grip and not as harsh riding as the Metzelers that come in it. Now if they did that orange in a gloss finish I might just trade up a year😊
Triumph are making top class bikes now and they're up there with the best. Definately would have one in my dream garage, think it looks awesome and with that power it must be super rapid too
Ok… I don’t comment on this much. But the combination of the presenter and camera/postproduction is on par with the product you’re reviewing. Magnifique. Salute and subscribed! 🫡
Rubber side up, Charlie! Great review. P.S. I've heard it's a little heavy and also the handle bars are a bit stooped down - but I haven't tried it tbh.
I ride a BMWR1250R, which I confess is a fantastic bike to ride on the road, especially on twisty A roads. It is now 3 years old, but I do have niggles. It is not an easy bike to start on a cold day, the battery can go flat easily without a good run, needs a special battery charger. Also have not good used to the TFT display, and when a service is due it is covered all over (service due) except for the speedo, which is damn annoying. Also my dealer is 50 miles away, and it is difficult to get it serviced elsewhere. There is a major triumph dealer in town, and this bike really appeals to me as a trade in. Yes it has more hp, but candidly, the BM really pulls as well with similar 0-60 figure. It also tremendous low rev torque (I never take it above 4000 rpm on the road, there is no need). My one concern is habing ridden boxers a long time I do like shaft drive.
I don't know how I feel about that stall-control. We all stall it now and again, and I think it's important to be humbled. Then again, I thought quick-shifters were a waste of time, until I tried one...
Hi Charley, thank you for your review, I am about to buy this motorcycle. I noticed that while driving, the front wheel of this motorcycle slightly lifted off the ground several times. Is this something you did intentionally or did you turn off the electronic system that prevents the front wheel from lifting? Or was the electronic system not working? Thanks!
To be honest I'm looking for my first bike I'm considering this or a bmw s1000r gen2 Spec for spec I believe these are the two best options only gripe about the str1200 is the tft I prefer the old dash
A little stiff is an understatement for a 75kg bloke, even when it has been set and backed off etc etc its almost dangerous and unsettles itself on the bends if hit a bump etc. looks its stunning but after 4 trials on the best and suspension setup it did not go into my garage which was frustrating. if only the gave the suspension off the RR to the RS, sorted it would be. not been a good seller this time around for Triumph according to the figures I've seen
I had a Triumph street triple lovely bike around the corners no better.but the wiring shit .the wire broke by the key .all connecter was rusted.fan packed up .regulator/rectifier replaced.the bike only did 15000 miles .they ok if you don’t go in the wet.Kawasaki 1000sx no problem in all weather it’s done 35000 now
5:40 my 160cc Hero Extreme has this feature since 2020.... i actually rider it this way only in the city, at Max it runs at 30kmph in fifth gear without even touching the throttle....
can you find nuetral now on the 2023? I understand it has been a miserable problem with no apparent fix for 2022 bikes? I really am interested in buying one but not if I cant put into nuetral whenever I need to ....that would just be awful! I mean sure you can just use the clutch but when it's a long wait or warming it up before riding I dont see how ANYONE would tolerate having to fight the transmission for such a simple request as nuetral!
If only triumph can put this engine on some stilts (tiger 1200 sport) it would thoroughly give the S1000xr a proper run for it's money. The old 1050 sport was crying out for an overhaul, not extinction. Fingers crossed they do. I know they listen. At least they say they do. 🤞🤞
Reliability is a major issue for me … I’ll pass. I’m more interested in Charlie’s watch than the bike and also the paintwork on Triumphs recently isn’t that great. Admittedly a good motorcycle but reliability issues are a deal breaker I’ve seen too many of them on RU-vid with faults.
My friend who lives in a city, was talking about modern posh bikes beings so rife for the pilfer ... lovely bikes yeah, but if you are normal and use street parking, its only worth buying understated boring bikes.. so they aren't such a target..
I think that all of the motorcycle companies don't have a clue about what people really want. they think that people want naked bikes. but they don't want naked bikes. what people really want are sport bikes with fairings, but with naked bike ergonomics. they are buying naked bikes because they are sick of the modern day sport bikes that are track racing bikes with back breaking ergonomics that you cannot be comfortable on for more than a half an hour. with unusable back seats. This new Speed triple 1200 RS is an amazing bike. I love it, but you cannot use the power because anything over 70 and the wind is hammering you like a hurricane, so what good is the power. give me a bike that I can go 150 on without being hammered by the wind. and I guarantee that 90% of people agree with me. I just bought a DUCATI Supersport because it is one of the only sane bikes on the market. a sport bike with a fairing, with reasonably comfortable ergonomics. and for people who say the wind isn't bad on a naked bike. they are full of it. you can't get around the FACT that if you are going 120 mph. then the wind is hitting you at 120 mph. that is a level 3 hurricane. and a 150mph is a level 5 hurricane. it's simple logic.
Hope it's got a better turning circle at slow speed than the shitty street triples have. Need a bloody motorway to turn em at slow speed. Try doing a tight u turn in a tight street, useless .
