An ICON. I played bass for Charlie when "Snakes Crawl At Night" was charting 1966. 1st Texas gig Civic Center, Big Springs, TX then on to Littlefield High School, Littlefield ,TX. Waylon was from Littlefield. Charlie hell of a man. God Bless him.

When I was younger and heard “Kiss an angel good morning “ on the radio I liked the song and voice but never knew he was of different color until one Saturday night when my dad had Hee Haw on the tv and Mr Pride sang that song that’s when I knew that I loved the man and his music. He was the first to break the color bearer in the country music industry. Ever since I’ve loved this man and his music and now he’s gone he left a huge mark on the country music industry. What a great legend he was. Sadly missed RIP Charley Pride
