"We're all hungry, we're gonna get to our hot plates soon enough" I just realized how genius this line is because not only is Charlie mistaking boilerplate for hot plate but he also thinks everyone in the room (including the very well off lawyer) uses a hot plate as a stove like him and frank do in their shitty apartment.
Such a giant asshole. Which is understandable given his dealings with the Gang, but it's also still satisfying to see Royal McPoyle take his eye later on. The gang gets their karma all the time, so he was overdue for some as well!
@@totz_the_plaid9625I have to disagree. The only people the Lawyer treats like trash are the Gang…and they ARE trash. He’s not an a**hole in the slightest.
First law of TV writing: If someone is even vaguely intelligent, they went to an Ivy League or equivalent school. That's why Dennis and Dee went to Penn.
his transcription of a piece of the video gets picked up by web crawlers who index it make it a searchable phrase on google/search-sites. Sooo his comment has a suitable purpose, yours... not so much, "doucher"
I love the lawyer - his timing is impeccable & a perfect contrast to the “gang”. He is an excellent actor along with all of the other recurring characters on this show! Last thing that happened to the lawyer is that he got his eye pecked out in court by the McPoyle’s bird. I want him back with an eyepatch in the new season! Crossing my fingers. I want all the other characters back too of course! Rickety Cricket, Gail the snail, Bill Ponderosa, the McPoyles and Artemis.
Rob's always the first one to break character. It's part of the reason why Charlie has so many bits with Dee. Kaitlin's the only one who can keep a straight face when Charlie Day start's going off the cuff.
I never noticed before but the part with the law book is a nod to his illiteracy. He just kept flipping pages until he found a picture. And he’s hilariously wearing reading glasses when he can’t read.
The way this show explores things like no other comedy does: Charlie's uncle being some kind of lawyer (probably the only person in his extended family with any sort of success), Charlie's weird relationship with him and Charlie thinking he is a lawyer himself, arguably connected to all the above. This show is a different kind of comedy.
I always give Rob credit for trying so hard to not laugh, he got better over the years, but this scene he couldn't even hide it, just had to cover his face 0.15-0.18
