These pads are SO soft! 🤤 I love wearing these during school, i wear the extra super overnight ones so that i dont leak during school. These are so amazing!
This is a very late comment, but this is directed to anyone who reads it and knows about this information... if you have the extra super overnight pads are they really bulky or not? How long do they last during the school day before you change them out? Do you change them more than once each day? Thanks :)
I have to sit for and hour and a half for each class in school and I only have three classes a day due to COVID, so if I had to change them out every time class ended it would be fine but it would be better if they lasted the whole school day and I change it once I get home or half a school day but I’m not sure
Well thank you so much for the compliment! I try very hard to be as informative as possible as I know what it is like to look for great products myself. Let me know how much you like them when you get your Charlie Banana pads! :)
Charlie Banana is expensive tho... i change every couple hours so I've been using A LOT of pads thats why i want to make the switch... but the the amount of reusables i need is gonna cost a pretty penny!!
I have been learning how to make my own with materials around the house. That helps, also Buttons Diapers have almost the same kind of pads as these but a little cheaper! :)
It is like putting your child in cloth diapers. The upfront cost is more expensive, but they do save money later on. You have to see how much you are spending on disposable pads for the year then see how much it will cost to purchase cloth pads for the year. Remember they can last a couple of years if taken care of properly. My stash now includes 9 pads for my heavy days and 9 for my regular to light days. I am a heavy bleeder and have found that the cloth pads don't leak as much, don't smell as bad, and absorb more.
Mary Eckert I have heard cloth pads can last up to 5 years. Mine will last a while because I only have periods every other month and I also use menstrual cups. I guess it depends on how often you are using the pads, the quality, and how heavy your flow is. It also depends on the way you wash as some routines are harder on cloth than others. I use my Charlie Banana's a lot so I have noticed they are starting to shrink down a bit from so much use, still love them though!
When going through menopause I found that using store pads started making me itch so bad that I had to get a check up from my doctor. I found a video & learned how to make my own cotton panty liners & I Love them. No more itching. The wings that I made on each pad, I sewed on snaps & I have no problem with the pad staying in place. No bulkiest & are absorbent. Just throw into the wash with your panties & hang dry. You can hand sew them or use a sewing machine. If one gets to stained or worn out, then throw it out & make another. I made about a dozen & use them all the time. You can custom make them to your body & length that you like. I am finding that getting away from the store bought pads, the chemicals & waste has helped me.
I REALLY enjoyed this review! I like that you included how you cleaned the pad off after use and even talked about it being a little warm for summer use! Im so glad I watched this video! I dont have room in my bugget to buy pads and a sprayer. Im still working on my diaper stash. Do you think running it under the faucet in the bath tub next to the toilet would work as an alternative?
+Mommy Hunger Thank you again I am so happy my reviews are actually helping other people! You can rinse them off by hand in your sink like you would a menstrual cup. I do that too sometimes. I showed off my diaper sprayer because some people think the whole blood thing is gross, I was just showing another way you don't have to touch it yourself. :P
I don't like washing pads and using over again ! More over I dont make time to wash it off nd my periods are too achy for me..do I get better version of use nd throw sanitary napkins at affordable prices
sindhura div you might like a reusable menstrual cup instead. You only have to change once a day and then boil for 3 minutes once your period is over. I wash with a gentle soap and I never have to buy tampons.
You can also sterilise your cup in some Milton or similar stuff used to clean baby bottles. My daughter does this because for her boiling would be risky. She would probably forget it and melt it.
sindhura div you can get them online and they hold more blood than anything else. Trust me, you will love them! I know Walmart sales the Diva Cup but there are really good ones online. I hope this helps you!
I recommend trying out the Buttons Diapers new cloth pads, you get a set of three and they are a little cheaper than the Charlie Banana and they look like the same style. There is also a Cloth Pads B/S/T group on Facebook where you can buy gently used and sometimes brand new cloth pads for cheap. I just joined and love that group. cloth pads are a bit pricey so I have even started making them myself using materials I already have by watching RU-vid tutorials. I am now starting to buy better quality materials like Minky, organic Bamboo velour, and more since I have some experience making pads. I will do a tutorial on that one day too. Hope this helps!
These I have to try. The irritation/cramps/vomiting I get from the chemicals of tampons and pads are all the reason I need to consider the cloth. I'm curious if the cramps are 100% related to the chemicals.
You know I have read a lot of people experience less cramping and shorter cycles when they make the switch. I believe cramps can be somewhat to do with your diet, the chemicals from pads and our foods, or other things. If you have them extremely bad there could be an issue that may need to be checked out as well. One thing I love is how much more comfortable and less "plastic-ish" it feels down there.
I think it depends on how tight or thin your pants are. I personally like to wear a cup when out. If you do wear these usually it’s not visible but it can be if your pants are tight tight.
lifeaccordingtoemma4 the white part is the absorbent part. The purple doesn't absorb anything as it's just a waterproof layer. You need to have the white part up to use it effectively or you will end up with a mess lol.
My Green Nest ha ha thanks for the reply ,I use it as a back up for diva cup ,and sometimes I have had some leakages on there. It now makes sense to havr the white part up ,don't know why I thought the colored part should be up in the first place LOL .Will tell my sister as well as she uses them .Just ordered some more of eBay and the description said to use coloured side down 😅
Well different pads are different. It seems a bit odd that they chose white for the inside but I like it cause I can see to get the stains out. I like to use pad liners as a back up to my lilly cup as well.
Until they get so thinned out or too damaged to be used. Most pads will last about 5 years on average with regular use. I'm still going strong 3 years on mine.
+Breya Wilkins I had never heard of them either until I got into cloth diapering. I thought they were a gross concept for a long time. Then slowly I got sucked in and now I would never go back to disposables. :)
If you are interested in trying any of them try the Charlie Banana. I used different brands but these feel so dry like you are almost not on your period. Im ordering more as soon as I get some spending money. I am going to order the cute flower liners for my lighter days.
I am from bangladesh.. Eco resourcr project... This ia a banana fiver project.. I like your product..i like to do this so i need training from you...kindly help me
These are really not great in my opinion. They are like china cheapies. They leak all over the sides. There are loads of fantastic pads out there. These are nothing of the sort. These would be okay as panty liners or if you are very light. Otherwise look on Etsy.
sugarmouse they have always been some of my favorites and worked great for me and my friends. I love Etsy pads too. I like pinkLemonade, HomesteadEmporium, and clothDreams. I did an updated postpartum pad review you might enjoy 😉

Its not about the budget its all about the health , for reuse the pads not good bcz periods bleeding is dirty and smells everything every each girl lady needs to be use new and clean pad not wasable its not higine
Indian girl life in uk my cloth pads smell fresh because I wash them in hot hot water and at least on two cycles. They are soooo much more comfortable then disposables. Plus disposables cannot be sanitized or bleached. They have chemicals in them that get absorbed into your bloodstream - yuck. They come out of a factory so you would be surprised they are not as clean as you think.
I don't mess with the toilet any longer. I rinse off in the sink and then put in a wet bag. I wash my diaper laundry three times on hot hot hot so I know they get clean before I wear again. :)
I used to think so myself until I started doing cloth diapers to save money. Either way you will deal with bodily fluids and now I'll never go back to wearing trash. lol
