Chaplin and Keaton, both brilliant and untouchable. I just happen to be a Buster fan, just adore him. Everyone has favorites though and Chaplin is wonderful of course. ✌️ Too many people pick fights over the Chaplin/Keaton thing though....Charlie and Buster liked each other and respected each other, so we can follow suit, yes? 😁

Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin are like the ying and yang of film comedy. To this day nobody has ever quiet matched them. Keaton usually has the best gags, Chaplin the most charisma. History certainly favoured Chaplin over Keaton in terms of lasting fame!

The dream team of the silent movie comedy; Chaplin, Keaton, Laurel & Hardy!

Keaton, Arbuckle, Laurel & Hardy, and Daniels were great but Chaplin will always be my favorite. He was not only a visionary and an amazing slapstick comedian, but an incredibly intelligent and caring human being.

OMG! I laughed at Buster Keaton smacking the fishes ass for eating his ball! xD

This clip was great. Such wonderful, clean and inventive comedy. Buster spanking the fish was the funniest part of the film.

This is a compilation short film , which has clips from different silent shorts, so the actors didn't work together at all

The gopher at 1:30 to 3:00 has got to be the inspiration for "Caddyshack".

Golf is a great subject for silent comedy, because it's mostly visual. Most of the comedy plays on over-exaggeration of the pursuit of the golf ball. In these clips, the players will go to any length, and disregard any circumstances -- whether it' a lake, a mud hole, a gopher hole, someone's mouth, etc, to get that ball.

was that Buster Keaton who did that whole bit in the water with the fish? that was hilarious! and i noticed that Charlie is left handed!

Just awesome; what a great compilation of some of the legends of comedy! BTW - if you've ever wondered who inspired "The Honeymooners" Kramden & Norton, just watch 5:13 - 6:13 - can't you just picture Norton (Art Carney/Laurel) messing around until Kramden (Jackie Gleason/Hardy) loses patience with him? One episode where the boys were practicing golf and Norton addressing the ball... "Hello, ball!" LOL. But for the definitive "Honeymooners" inspiration, see L&H's "Sons of the Desert"!

Sorry Chaplin, I like you but Keaton it's better. It is not only the most brilliant clown in film history, is also the greatest genius that cinema ever had !! Nothing Kubrick, Wes Anderson, Spielberg or Nolan, nothing, NOTHING beats the original! And proves once again that Hollywood only recognizes the brilliance when it is too late (Leonardo DiCaprio is a good current example).
