Lol. There are two types of off beat. Straight up Off the beat(folks who cant ride a beat) and on beat (what they call off timing. This is for masters)
Joe Budden for the win. He's had the best one by far. A lot of these "freestyles" haven't been that good. Joey Bad did good though as did his Pro Era counterpart Nyck Caution. But other than those three it hasn't been a good look for Flex at all.
Lol the beat can't follow anyone, it doesn't have a mind of its own. Clips was the best battler for awhile and now he fell off. He needs to focus on battling and nothing else, he's never going to get a deal
For everyone saying he's rhyming off beat, it's probably a delay between what he hears in the headphones vs the instrumental that's playing a background to the video. But if that's not the case, here's a list of rhymers that don't rhyme on beat: Common, Talib, MF Doom, Redman, Ghostface, Rza, and a whole host of others that are legends. It's called swing. Learn how sound works and time signatures.

He's not 'off beat' at all. It's a similar flow / style to Biggie and a few others - loose and swaggy on the beat. Personally I think it's better, more techically difficult and has greater effect on ears familiar with hip-hop rap. Fax
They dont understand the ability to switch flows on one beat..And make it sound right. They need to also understand its B.I.G's beat and he has his on cadenced flow. and its sometimes hard to flow on his beats so Clips did this good.

This is hip hop at it's finest and I wish all rappers sounded this good when they freestyle like this and Charlie Clips is very talented. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017.
