Great performance of "The DevilWent Down To Georgia", great interview. The middle section of "Simple Man" was lost but like Arsenio said, "Way to hold the groove!" Charlie Daniels = living legend!
This man was just one of the greatest humans to ever live. My dad was good friends with him. God rest both their souls. I've met Charlie probably 10 times been on his tour bus, played in a golf tournament with Pat the drummer. Not trying to be cool. Just want everyone to know how much of a phenomenal human being he was. His wife Mabel was very cool too
You got that right Bro. We truly loved him. You see, he'd been a "scrap or two". 🤠 EeeYaaWhooo from Far North CA, (always and forever Merle Haggard country)
Charlie Daniels was, and will always be, proof that God hears America's prayers. We were certainly blessed by his very "presence" and certainly his "words". He loved our Country.
Yeah when Charlie passed we lost not only one 1⃣ of the greatest country crossover ⭐ stars of all time but also one 1⃣ of the greatest country rock stars ⭐ of all time and one 1⃣ of the leaders of the Southern Rock wave that took over from the British invasion here in the US and around the world 😊😅😮😂❤😂❤😊
Arsenio Hall had a great show. I didn’t mind when every now and then he got on the stump and voiced his opinion on what was going on back then. He put talent on his show from every genre and treated everyone fairly. Good guy. We could use that today. Instead of all the anti white racism bullshit we see every day now… People need to stop being so damn sensitive and laugh again !! Where the hell did everything get so fucked up ?
I was really saddened to hear about this true southern gentleman passing today. I still listen to his songs and there is so much more to him than what people think. Got to hand it to Arsenio Hall for having him on his show back then he really moved the needle back then and I wish todays world would take something from that time. Charlie Daniels songs reached far beyond the Nashville scene. I would recommend his song, "Still in Saigon." It really is a powerfull song. He was a passionate American and he will be missed, may he rest in paradise.😇
What a stud! We lost a legend that can NEVER BE REPLACED! RIP Brother Charlie! You are home with the Lord; in eternal peace away from the devils playground. I will see you again in eternal heaven my brother. Heavens gate has you now. I will meet you there! ❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️
You beautiful musicians, thank you Mr. Daniels, thank you band. Your song was prophetic in the deepest sense. The devil did come down to Georgia looking to steal. He was in a bind, he was way behind, but we have music, and we have recounts. And recount we did. And again. And one more time. And you're gonna regret. And Fani said, let me show you how it's done.
controversial....yet was still allowed to make his point on mainstream TV and its up to you whether you disagree with it out not. Well damn, what a concept. In today's AMerica people that never listened to the song would call for it to be "Cancelled" and a TV show host on par with Aresenio would be vilified for even attempting to have him on the show. RIP Charlie, the world you left ain't the same as it was, maybe we should have listened a little closer
I remember Charlie Daniels and the CD be coming to Texas at the Texas state fair every year to play the KPOS radio station Shoe. Not only will Charlie Daniels be missed but the CDB will be also we are in P Charlie
If you mean "Simple Man" was missing a part it's because the clip is from an old VHS tape and someone accidentally recorded over it. I made a nice clean edit when I digitized the video to upload here.
@@elinino5275 cause he knew he was talkin about law breakers and had nuthin to do with race. Charlie also said he used to have a Rebel flag on stage sometimes and then stopped cause he saw the other side of the coin. He did say he didn't see it that way, but of course he didn't want to offend anyone and he wasn't "obsessed" with it. Wow, what a great guy.... he hated them, but I bet he would make a great mayor or representative
@@jeromeblue3854 He didn’t make the song about race ? Hanging. Wake up. CD was taking about criminals and AS said it’s “ Controversial “. I’ll give talk shows some credit back then-at least it was entertaining. Now ? Not so much. The entertainment industry is filth and run by democrats. What’s unfortunate is-most blacks have conservative, Christian values but then vote to stay on the plantation. Willing pawns for power hungry democrats. I don’t know of a single city that is in ruin that’s isn’t in a Democrat state. Sad.
Probably did’nt feel any kind of a way. This is a great song and lots of blacks liked it. It was a different time from the madness with race relations today.
if you really knew charlie, you wouldn't have said that. He is the perfect person to have on this show. Arsenio knew that for people to come together they gotta talk to one another. He knew who Charlie really was and probably respected him for not only speaking his mind, but URGING others to speak theirs too. Go watch some interviews - his whole thing is personal freedom - for everyone.
mike mouse did you forget the innocent white lives lynched too? People who died for the cause also. This song had nothing to do with civil war; criminals were hung in America the last in Ky 2001.
