Peaked at No. 38 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1983. Charlie named themselves after a horse called Charlie Cuckoo, But had to shorten it to just Charlie after copyright issues (I think). This was their biggest (and only) ever Top 40 U.S. hit single. Really good tune.

I loved this Group ! It was 1983 I played the Vinyl over and over again. I lost it when I moved Mom gave 3 Crates of Vinyl to the Goodwill

"In 1982 Terry Slesser became the new lead singer in Charlie, before that, Slesser was the singer with Back Street Crawler that featured Free guitarist Paul Kossoff and then became the touring vocalist in the band Geordie whose previous front man Brian Johnson left to join AC/DC in 1980. Slesser was also the singer in Beckett who released one self-titled album in 1974, produced by Roger Chapman the singer of the band Family. Before being hired in Charlie, Slesser unsuccessfully auditioned for the lead vocal in Iron Maiden (as mentioned by Steve Harris (bassist) on the Iron Maiden 'The Early Days' DVD. In 1984, Slesser toured Europe and Japan as an offstage backing vocalist with the Michael Schenker Group. Slesser continues to tour as a solo act and in various band formations. For two years, he was the lead singer of Freeway, a British tribute band playing the music of the band Free" (wiki)
