Borders matter, if you don't believe that, let your neighbours use your place, your water, your electricity, your food. To have freedom, you need to establish a border where that freedom will exist and can be defended against those who would abuse it and take it from you.

Began this twice before. Too long. So to be quick about it. That young person and those who seemingly sided with him need to spend a year or more in Mexico, and I don't mean the "fun" places; I do mean immersing themselves into the actual cities and towns where they are surrounded by only the citizens of Mexico. Best advice or warning I can give is if you see something nefarious happening before your eyes, avert your eyes, turn away, walk away, you see nothing, you know nothing. Do NOT call the police, do not look for anyone to help you do what is correct, go home, forget you ever saw it, and hope those doing the dirty deed don't care or don't find out who you are. Could write a book about the reasons why. Let there be no doubt that this is the way "things" are done there! in Mexico to this day things are done a certain way, and the rich get richer (politicians included), and the rest try to survive...........stay blind while you are there. Could be wrong, but I see Canadians and Americans buying up properties in beach towns and close to the borders. This used to be against Mexican law, but am sure the rich get richer (and the poor now poorer) as a result. I believe, could be wrong, am sometimes, but one day sooner or later i suspect that all of these retirees winter/summer home owners (maybe not the huge US corporations....depends on who they know and how much "mordida" they can pay probably), will have their Mexico homes taken from them by the Mexican government......remember Pemex anyone? Greed, guys, and I support the Mexican government if they do in fact just move them all out so that the poor can perhaps go back to their ancestral home, towns, cities, and be able to financially survive there again. Mexico is NOT going to change, not in our lifetime!
This kid is about to cry. Parents have really failed this generation. My oldest is a college senior but we made sure our kids are the opposite of these whiny, uninformed people.

I’m a white American born and raised in Mexico. It is very, very corrupt! If you have enough money you can pay off anyone. My school bus was stopped everyday by bad cop’s demanding money from the bus driver. When I was growing up the cartel were mostly in Columbia and now they are destroying Mexico, the country I love! Every male must serve 4 years in the corrupt military so when my brother turned 14 we had to leave Mexico. I truly miss Mexico!
The way I look at it is Mexico is the easiest way to peddle drugs into the us . The us gov needs an excuse for the war on drugs so all in all the elites profit from cartels running Mexico . Why does the Us care about democracy in Ukraine but not about Mexico 😂

That kid with the "Mijo" shirt should be deported, if he admits to being here illegally. Basically, he admitted to stealing from everyone who isn't. Also, having a 3.whatever GPA means nothing, while having to tell someone you're "very smart" is almost always proof of the opposite.
They don't "keep the kids and send the parents back", the problem is when kids aren't verifiably being brought by their parents. That's why they're "separated" at the border to begin with. It's not because they're being mean to the parents or the kids, it's because they're keeping them SAFE while they do their job.
