That's what makes real country music the best. I've been listening to country music since I was very young. It was all thanks to my grandfather , who passed away in 1969 when I was 11 years old.

I grew up listening to the Louvin Brothers. A sound, presence, and inspiration unlike any other. And modern artists are clueless as to the 'heart' that the Louvins would always bring. Luckily I can listen to them often, always feel great after. Miss them both!

I got to meet Charlie at the Louvin Museum in Bell Buckle, TN. He gave us a personal tour, it was a great afternoon. I was raised on Lookout Mtn. and had cousins on Sand Mtn. not far from where the Louvins Brothers were raised. Love their music and it was a great honor to meet Charlie.

These brothers are my favourite gospel singer. I remember we had a quartet back in Jamaica late seventies comprising of two of my brothers a cousin and I. We would sing their songs during concerts or rally in church or other communities. I still continue to listen to them even now. So sad how lrad died in that accident.

I remember listening to my Dads Louvin Brothers albums when I was a kid. They were gospel albums, one was called "The Family That Prays". The other one was called "Satan is Real", it had a really cool album cover and it was also on the cover of Charlie's book decades later. I always played music since I was a kid in the early 1960s. Around 2014 I bought two copies of the book and gave one to my elderly uncle. My uncle had a small recording studio and a lot of us would regularly meet there and play music. I started reading the book and it was excellent, but it had a whole lot of profanities in it. F words, C words, and such. I apologized to my 85 year old uncle for giving him a book laced with cuss words, I felt like an idiot.

My Grandfather Ira actually never had a son.His very first child was a daughter,who happens to my deceased Mother. Sadly it seems everyone forgot about her or let's say never mentions much of anything about my Grandfathers first daughter and the child she had,which happens to me,his grandson😏 I know alot about my Grandfather that no one talks about or knows about.
@wolfgangwylde5889

My mothers name Linda Gail. She was about 24 when her father Ira Louvin died and I was about 7 1/2 years old. My beautiful and talented Aunt Kathy Louvin was about the same age as I when We were at his funeral.Check 1965 Tennessean paper front page.My Mother.My Great Grandmother and Uncle.Charlie were pictured and mentioned at the funeral on the front page.Although whoever put the description underneath the photo got my Mother's age terribly wrong. She was 24 years old ,not 17 as the paper stated. There are also many other so called facts that have been said and printed about my Grandfather Louvin,that are nothing more than tales and folklore that contain no actual truth about them. My Grandfather Louvin's very first wife Anne Lou, "my Grandmother" told me some kinda bad,yet funny stories about their short marriage. Anne Lou,not to be confused with his last wife , Anne Young/Louvin who was killed in the car crash with my grandfather. Last time we visited my Grandfather at his home in Alabama was shortly before he was killed.I visited.my great grandparents a few times after my grandfathers death and well I have sad and troubling stories to tell about those visits that no one alive knows about except myself. I'll always remember that last time seeing him and the long conversations.I think I got my long winded talking from Grandfather Louvin.I have an old photo My Grandfather took of us sitting on a couch in his living room. I have much to tell.Maybe I'll write a book,oh wait I'm a song writer,not a book writer. I have my story to tell,so whatever,I may write a book anyway. For the record.Ira Louvin is my Grandfather. His very first wife is my Grandmother.my Mother is his first child. My grandfather learned when he was only 17 that he was going to have his first child,my Mother. As far as I know ,I'm his very first grandchild. Also just to set the record straight Charlie Louvin is my Grand Uncle. The facts are facts whether anyone knows the facts,accepts the facts, likes the facts or not..👍🙂 I know who I am and who my family is and no one is going to deny me of acknowledging and annoucing my born family blood heritage. I love my Grandfather, I respect him and miss him. I also love and miss my great grandparents,especially my great grandmother.She was a very special,stong spiritual woman.Probably the most spiritual person I knew of when I was young. Wasnt around uncle Charlie much,but he is my family and I'm sad he's gone.Wish I had gotten to know him better,but oh well theres a somewhat unpleasant story as to why I didn't get on with Uncle Charlie.✌🙂

What am I missing here. Was it Ira who was 'wiped out by a drunk driver'? If so, did Ira and Charlie not have the same mother? He says "... he had told his mom," so I am confused. "A Mr. [can't hear] was driving ... Ira & his wife sitting in the backseat..."

Maaan my dad is white (with the last name Dunham, which I carry)and my mom is Mexican so I’ve always loved to dig into both sides right. So my great grandma Dunham used to sound like this man!! She used to be old and wrinkly drinking a beer and smoking a cigarette on the porch everyday anddd boyyyy this reminds me of her. I look kinda brown but I felt more white even tho I look brown, in a real way, not a racist way lol but anyway I’m just saying it’s nice to find some music and see the people who made it sound and feel just like my family
