This was all I listened to the other night, over and over, before I went in to get my last cancer screening...4 years and I moved from cancer patient to survivor!!!
This song brings thoughts, emotions, and memories from youth group camp stuff, school young life and FCA stuff, and just glorious early 2000's vibes. Of course, it came out more than a decade late, but damn if 36 year old me thinks 16 yr old me would have made this video and loved every moment of it.
Just bought the album today, and it's been on repeat for me all night. They're reminiscent of other bands I love, like Veruca Salt, The Breeders, and Sleater Kinney.
Guppy is one of the best debuts from a rock band I’ve heard in so long. Absolutely perfect album from start to finish. Hooks for fucking days on every track.
watched them last night doing a cover of LENS Steal my sunshine . How have I never heard of them before I'll never know but they remind me of my teen years.
lush is shoegaze/dreampop yes. i wouldnt say belly is. but i would say i hear more belly than lush. i saw both those bands last summer by the way...they were really good.
Omg this was my favorite song from Guppy and the music vid does it justice for I kinda felt happy just watching y'all rockin out and Eve being her crazy fun self🔥🔥🤘💜🎸
Saw you guys playing at The Rec Room in Toronto on Saturday night. Fell in love with your music and bought your new album. you guys sound awesome keep making more :)
Im usually pretty selfish about the bands I like staying underground but I genuinely hope these guys get big. Hard not to feel felicity when listening to this 😊
this video reminds me of "swell content" by speedy ortiz. i love it. eva really reminds me of kim deal. not voice but in the way i am drawn to watching their mouth when they sing. they really accentuate the lyrics with their mouth and their smiles....makes me so happy.
I recently discovered Charly Bliss. This was the second song/video of theirs that I heard/watched As someone who spent a career in the Entertainment Business I don't know how this song didn't become a hit. It has all the elements of a hit single. The feel good video, nostalgic for many, also brings together all the elements of a hit. The lyrics clearly tell a story but it's obviously a very personal story left to be just vague enough to cause the listener to have to fill in some blanks. I have to admit I've always loved lyrics that keep me wondering exactly what the writers motivation was. What's the real story behind a song? I've since went on to listen to just about everything I can find that they have published and as much as I like their other music this is by far the standout song for me. The hook is about as perfect as it gets. It is absolutely infectious. Just for the sake of reference I grew up listened to 70's music and Thoroughly lived the 80's.....lol.
