Born in the 90s. Didn't understand anything about her besides big tits. But holy shit she is a master at guitar. Trained under Andres Segovia. It really saddens me that she isn't know for that. Because she is amazing and super talented
@@merrickcr she understood what her transition to the dumb blonde act would do to her image. She laughed all the way to the bank! Europeans know the truth, so don't be sad.
I remember as s kid growing up in the 70s that Charo was everywhere on TV. She was the Shakira of her time. Then as I got older I looked forwards to seeing her play guitar more than watching her dance or sing. As a showgirl she was just so so. As a guitarist she is a master.
@@asturiasceltic3183 What I kind of meant was, she was the only big name Latina star at that time. You're right about Shakira not being a virtuoso. Maybe a virtuoso of baring her belly...
Not only is she beautiful, she is a fantastic Spanish Classical Guitarist. I didn't even know she played until maybe 6 or 7 years ago, and I was shocked when I heard her tickle those 6 strings. She is as good as anyone I've ever heard and I've been playing for 52 years. She is fabulous!
Wow. Charo is just extraordinary. She makes you just fall in love with her art because she is just SO passionate about it herself! Her final facial expression and gesture tell you EVERYTHING! Incredible! Thank you Charo!
I told date Charo played Spanish guitar, then shared with friend he didn't know either. their both older men All remember coochi coochi I remember her when I was a little girl and she was amazing. watching her now 30 plus years later, truly appreciate her phenomenonal talent. Thank you Charo!!
as a member of the audience at the Haugh performance, 5th row Center - she was outstanding in the whole show. she told the audience to take pictures and videos! awesome entertainer and sad that she's no longer on tv.
There is some question as to actually how much Segovia was her teacher. Apparently, he started a number of schools in Spain, but wasn't there full-time to teach, as he was touring, etc. Also, Segovia is more known more for what we call "classical guitar" than pure flamenco. Still Segovia did know of Charro, and probably did teach her to some extent. But, people make it sound like he was her only, or main, instructor and that is probably far from accurate.
Charo legitimately did attend a conservatory that Segovia founded in Spain, but by the time that happened he was continually touring internationally. She's since admitted that the guy would only show up once a year or so to wave hello and give a class. So while it is possible that she had a TINY bit of direct instruction from Segovia, the vast majority of her formative instruction was from the regional conservatory instructors. That said. . .they wouldn't have been running Segovia's school if they weren't good, and bluntly, they probably had a lot more real world teaching experience than Segovia did anyway.
@@truescotsman4103 You must be clueless about the guitar; no one ever "surpassed" Segovia. There's plenty now who play as well as Segovia but on that level there's no "Surpassing." She's a beginner compared to him and he did not play faux Flamenco and Las Vegas style shows. Nothing she does here is very difficult. You must be looking at the Tits and Ass and got Struck silly. Are you really Scottish? Embarassing if true.
Growing up I was blessed to have Grandfather that practiced his guitar. Some Saturday mornings we'd get to listen to records of Charro. Only Now at 54 do I realize how I appreciated Miss Charro was truly a Great Guitarrista✌🐴❤
Malagina is a historical epic that tells stories that happened to all people who gathered to taste its wounds, and it will forever resonate its torments through the ether.🌍
Wow. What a joy to see Flamenco Dancing again. I only saw it live when I went to Madrid, at 15 years old. And, it goes without saying your guitar playing is stellar. Thank you, for posting this, Ms. Charo.
Just a thought, go to the Kennedy Center webpage and nominate her for the Kennedy Center Honors. She deserves it, a great talent in many ways; and as a musician, supreme.
Your the best Charo. The best ever in Guitar Playing. I have never heard anyone play as good as you do. Not even Zayra Alvarez from SuperNova does playing as good as you.
If you don’t know…. Now you know… Johnny😎😉. Charro is so special and one of the all time greats! When I listen to her play it gives me goosebumps and I find myself emotional at times. Bravo, Charro!!!
She speaks and writes in Japanese too! I study Japanese for years and could never write it! For a person whose first language is Spanish or English learning to speak and write in Japanese or any Asian language takes an almost Genius mind! ブラボーチャロ、あなたは私が今まで見た中で最も才能のあるパフォーマーです! I had help from a translation program. It is a private note to Charo.
Love your performance and your playing Charo. Damn you Johnny Carson, he made as all think this very talented woman guitarist was nothing but a clown. Sad- we would have loved her music back then as well as we do now.
A tragedy that she had to "Uncle Tom"" (or whatever the female-gendered equivalent is) with that "Coochie-coochie" routine to get accepted by "mainstream" American TV audiences. I wonder how that must have felt, deep inside? I think of the legendary African-American actors, actresses, musicians, and singers who had to do that in films and on early TV, and what they went through . . . I'm guessing it was the same for this lady.
I remember her when she first appeared at 17 years old on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson. She rarely played guitar on The Tonight Show. She was always played the comic. She also played guitar and sang on the Ed Sullivan Show. She last appeared on Wendy Williams Show on 10/05/20.
Era una adolescente andaluza en USA en los 70... Querían promocionarla como producto exótico y la guitarra española clásica que ella toca era demasiado solemne como para que diese la idea de frivolidad con la que querían promocionarla. Una lástima.
