Original upload got taken down so I cleaned up another video taken from a reaction channel because people deserve to see the entire unedited performance. Not sure what song this is though but it's great.
I am a guitarist and I was at the Vegas airport on the same plane as charo. Waiting for our luggage and I had my guitar and she saw me pick it up and we had a moment It was really fun. She’s a beast on that classical. Always a fan
As Legion Ivory said “you are lucky mate” I would say more like “you had won the lottery “ Most of us dream about meeting a famous musician and maybe jam a bit with them(I’m the one who hangs around musicians, a drummer) You got to live that dream I’m jealous and all so stoked you got to jam with Charo You have a story to amaze your grandchildren when that day comes
Charo always seemed happy becoming the "cuchi-cuchi girl." But she truly was an accomplished musician. She was also a funny and fun t watch. In an interview Charo said, "Around the world I am known as a great musician. But in America I am known as the cuchi-cuchi girl. That's okay because cuchi-cuchi has taken me all the way to the bank."
She was trained by a master. I believe it. She destroys. I like metal and stuff but I wish so hard I could play guitar like this it just sexy as heck and beautiful.
@@VetteMAE2, don't worry, I suppose that's an American magazine. They know nothing. I is, more or less, like when they propose to choose the best operatic singers and people votes for Sara Brightman or Bocelli.
"Latina." Definitely not latinks. Calling a Spaniard a Latina is as bad as calling an Englshwoman an Anglo-Saxon. It's like claiming that their families are part of very successful historical cultures and contemporary societies that are thriving far and wide. How insulting!
I can remember the first time I ever saw Charo play the guitar. Up until then, I hadn’t thought too much of her but I changed my mind after I saw what an accomplished guitarist she was. It changed my whole opinion of her.
Grew up watching her and am just now learning that she was an accomplished musician. I'm kinda mad but also amazed. I just love her and she's so beautiful. Truly gifted.
It’s insane to think this is 1977 and how much better she probably is now after continued practice for years. Charro really is an incredible musician and guitarist.
An amazing craftsmanship to her guitar playing. This woman is among the most amazing guitar players of Latino music. She's above many of the people people put above her. Secovia has nothing on her.
She's not just an amazing Latin/Flamenco guitarist. Ottmar Leibert always looked up to Charo, and as much as love Lindesy Buckingham, and his acoustic classical sets, not anywhere near her talent.. .and with a perfect manicure!
I am deeply mesmerized by her fingers dancing accross that instrument with so much fervor and jovial energy! Passionate even…I’m still picking my mouth up from off the floor.
What a fucking beast... I gotta learn how to play that tremolo bit where she's playing like a million notes a second on a single string with 3 different fingers... Absolutely awe-inspiring. Also, she was on Suite Life On Deck that one time! Neat!
Oh man, 1977, native kid from a reservation hearing this for the first time ever, I was enthralled by Charo's performance. I fell in love 😍Still in love to this day.
Im a musician but I know Charo from drag/gay culture and you should see the smile slowly growing on my face learning she’s like one of the most bad ass guitar players ever
Wow! Amazing Flamenco guitarist! I knew she played guitar but I had absolutely no idea she was this good. After seeing this I went online and saw she studied under the great master Andres Segovia. OK, I know, I’m a little late to the party but I am going to try and see her play at Morongo if she comes again as it is near me. Cuchi Cuchi, she is so much more than that!
Malaguena will remain the sad voice coming from the depths of tortured hearts, then it will continue to scream in order to announce its wounds over the years that it will continue to receive the pain of wounds and forever....🌍🖤🖤🖤
Wow! This is the first time I have seen this performance, what an amazing artist. She was so young and beautiful I almost didn't recognize her. I saved this to watch again and again, I need to be constantly reminded of how much I suck on guitar - thanks Charo!
Good call. I only ever knew Charo as the "Coochie-coochie girl" when I was a kid (I was born the year before this performance). I was absolutely floored the first time I heard her guitar. Still am. Gracias, amigo!
Woooohooo she’s the best Flamenco female guitarist ever .. .. I’ve never in my life time ever seen a woman who can compete with men an undoubtedly win .. God Bless you Charo for putting women on the map thank you 🙏🏻
I’m today-years-old when I learned that “HOOCHIE-COOCHIE-COOCHIE” could play a mean fuckin flamenco 😂 Holy shit. I grew up with my parents playing 70s reruns on TV and seeing her prance around all crazy-like. This is insanely awesome to me ❤️ What a legend.
Every single filmed recording of her is always back by an orchestra or a band. I just want to hear her play without a bunch of studio mercenaries muddying it up.
Bravo 👏 Bellissimo ❤ Apparently, from 1970 to 1979 were the best years in the whole world. The years of prosperity and love and art and the peak of world classic cinema. And Hollywood of course❤❤❤
I was born in 1973 and as a kid I remember her being very popular and all the coochie coochie stuff. I just thought that she was an actress or a model. It wasn't until that reality show where they put all of the celebrities and make them live together that I learned that she was this kick ass guitar player.
