Marc-Antoine Charpentier, (1643 -- 24 February 1704) was a French composer of the Baroque era.
The prelude to his Te Deum, H. 146, a rondo, is the signature tune for the European Broadcasting Union, heard in the opening credits of Eurovision events and is often played by Trumpet and Organ at weddings.
