Not a BS test in my opinion. Granted it doesn't have the equivalent degree of accuracy as C231 but at the same time (as counter-intuitive as it may sound) chase air is a better indicator of uniformity as far as capillary distribution is concerned than the standard pressure meter. This is why many highway departments are transitioning towards the super air meter; because it measures air entertainment incrementally. In other words, the small the sample the better for determining air% in concrete.
@@jamesmonaco8414 I have to agree with you. I preformed this text over a thousand times. It always gave me a true reading. I know this because every new snot nose engineer scoffed at it, and made me bring out the heavy pressure tester. My chase tester matched the pressure meter 90% of the time. They didn’t care for me, because I told them to have their tester recalibrated. Bastards!!
