I like Capital One's portal. They price match any deal you find. I just "saved" $120 on a flight to Vegas. They used to give you the price match as a statement credit, but changed that to a travel credit. While that's a bummer, it isn't too bad as you get the money back regardless as long as you use the travel portal, which always gives you the best price.
That's true. The price match guarantee can come in clutch ⚡ Like you said, its definitely better to get a travel credit back than nothing at all 👌🏼 thank you for watching 🤙🏼
As someone with experience with both of these setups (except for the Savor One still), I just see it hard for me to ever value Cap1 miles more than Chase points. Although the Cap1 duo has better earning categories, I always find myself wanting more Chase points rather than Cap1 miles. Great breakdown Chase!
My Trifecta is the Chase Sapphire Reserve, the Capital One Venture X and the Capital One Savor. I don’t think anyone has done a video on this but it works great for me.
oooo that's an interesting combination for sure 😍 lots of annual fees but lots of perks that come with it as well. Thank you for sharing that with us John 🙏🏼 I'll have to look into that strategy and potentially make a video about that crediting you 👌🏼
Haha I have the exact same video queued to drop tomorrow! Great to see others' perspective on this comparison. I think if Capital One continues on their trajectory, they could have a chance at knocking Chase down (since they haven't shown many signs of improvement)
oooo I'll be sure to tune into that tomorrow Kevin 👀👌🏼 I agree that they have really been on their best behavior as of lately. Thank you for always supporting 🙏🏼
I think the Capital Duo is better than the Chase trifecta. Better multipliers and benefits. I do agree that the Chase setup is easier to use. Great information! 👍
Guys, there's a hack. On the CFU or CFF you can earn 3x on drugstore purchases and guest what's at drugstores? Gift cards, earn an unlimited 3x on just about anything. Also, if you have the Chase Ink business credit card you can earn an unlimited 5x on purchases at office supply stores and guest what's at office supply stores.. I'm sure you can answer that.
@@tarrius1210 every setup can provide good value. I have Chase cards and no Capital One cards. I think Chase points are easy to use the points, has more US based airlines to transfer points and good co branded cards. I would to see Chase do a refresh because of the overlapping categories, add real grocery and gas. In my case AMEX FTW but I get good value from the Chase cards I have.
Good info. I’ve said this elsewhere: I’m 6 weeks in with the Duo and can confirm this is perfect for anyone working abroad. Zero FT fees and 2-3x on everything you can pay with card. Also, Cash Back can only be transferred to Miles on the website, not in the app. That took a bit to figure out. So, to summarize: 💵💶💷💳🤑
Thank you for sharing that tip about transferring Miles 🙌🏽 I can see how the no FX fees are clutch for someone like you who works abroad. Crazy how the Chase freedom cards don't do that 🤔 Congratulations on your recent duo pickup and thank you so much for watching !
Great video man! Due to the transfer partners, I’m Team Chase. They have so many transfer partners, including Southwest and United for domestic. But the gold mine is definitely Hyatt, and the great redemption that they still provide 💯
That's facts. Chase has some GREAT uses for their points 🔥 and one of those is their outstanding list of travel partners like you mentioned. Thank you for watching 👏🏼
To go along with the CSR/VX comparison, one could also look at the CSP vs. Venture. Though the Venture doesn’t give you a portal credit or an anniversary bonus, it does give you TSA/GE and some lounge access unlike the CSP, and could be a good option for those that don’t want to be stuck with a portal every year.
That's a great alternative. It's truly like the baby step to a more "adult" card like the Venture X. Just having TSA precheck / GE and lounge access can go a long way. Thank you Andy for watching and dropping some knowledge! 🙏🏼
The 3% on the CSP for groceries works if your store has an app. Kroger and Publix both get the points if you pay through the app with your card attached
Yes that is a great work around. 👍🏼 but a work around nonetheless 😔 Chase just gotta be straight up with it and give us a grocery category lol. Thank you for watching and commenting Rob 🙏🏼
American Express approved the gold card, the green card and a gold skymiles simultaneously. Capital One offered a Quicksilver card with an insultingly low credit limit which I immediately cancelled once I saw the limit and denied me a Venture card. So yes, capital one made my decision for me.
I have the Chase trifecta already and my Venture X is out for delivery today (I got approved two day ago.) I will be waiting the required six months then grabbing the Savor One. I think having both set-ups is key.
Agreed. 🙏🏼 Having both setups can give you the best of both worlds. Congratulations on the Venture X pickup! 🔥 🍾 can't wait for you to complete the Duo in a little bit. I appreciate you for watching and giving us an update. 🤙🏼
On the Capital one side of things, they also have: The Capital One Cashback Duo = Quicksilver & Savor One (or Savor if you're big into food and want to do super markets [which has a $95 fee], but I would not mind paying for it!) FYI: I myself have said Cashback Duo featuring the Savor One. Working out very well!
Capital One just has all the best Duos huh 😂 And it makes it even better with the no foreign transaction fees 👏🏽 Thank you for watching my video Trenton! 🤙🏽
Outside the better transfer partners, I don’t see how you could justify the chase trifecta over the C1 duo. It technically costs more, less benefits, overlapping categories, dependency on rotating categories that are sometimes useless, and more cards with redundancy?
I agree that the Cap Duo has soooo much to offer and a more easily justifiable annual fee 🙌🏽 But I think the Chase transfer partners and easy to use points / customer service have some pull as well
The chase Trifecta is pretty powerful as Hyatt was probably ones of its biggest draws. However, since the Hyatt and MGM partnership was dropped that was a major hit to travel hackers. Also there’s rumors that Hyatt might go to a dynamic pricing next year. If that does happen capital one would definitely leap frog chase as the solid number 2 option behind Amex.
oh nooo we don't need more bad news for Hyatt. 😢 That'll be crazy to see what happens in a few months then. Thank you for watching and sharing that update 🙏🏼
That's kinda what im rocking right now 👏🏼 The only problem is I need the Plat for the travel benefits since I dont have the CSR. 😬 But you would need either the CSR or Venture X for those sweet travel perks. Thank you for watching my video 🤙🏼
Great rundown of the Chase Trifecta vs. the Capital One Duo! It'll be interesting to see which setup people start with - either Capital One or Chase. Chase is the better answer now, but Capital One is making the decision that much tougher!

I have both! But anyway, just as a heads up, the 3x back on online groceries on the CSP works for me at the grocery store if I pay by scanning the QR on the store's mobile app. So, at least for my situation, it is a proper 3x back on grocery stores.
We gotta get Capital One on a phone call and have suggestions like this shoved in their face 👍🏼 That'll for sure be OP. Thanks for watching this video :)
I’ve been waiting on a video like this for a while now, as I currently have the full Chase setup and Savor1 for Cap1. Appreciate you! Im Possibly thinking of adding VX once I hit my 6th month. Just got into the game this year! Thanks
Glad I could help! 👏🏼 congratulations on the cards you have so far. You are off to a GREAT start. I wish I was killing it like that when I first started 😅 Thank you for watching 🤙🏼
@@ChaseYokoyama thanks boss I’m trying. My wife also has the CFU and Quicksilver to add on as a P2. Although she’s not as heavy into the game as I am lol. In other words we’re double dipping into two ecosystems.
Capital one portal also price matches, so if you’re afraid of paying more that should alleviate those fears. Also if the price goes down after you book they’ll give you up to a $50 discount too. Team capital one all the way!
You, Kevin Yang and I should've just dropped it at the same time lol 😂 We are all on the same wavelength. 🔥 looking forward to your video tomorrow. I appreciate you for always watching Eric 🤙🏼
Bruh on my Amex Brilliant video a lot of people were bringing up the Ritz Carlton 👀 maybe I gotta look into that card myself. How do you like it? Also thank you so much for watching! 🙏🏽
I think the Capital One due is actually better in the long run as much as I'm not a fan because they won't increase my credit limit on my Quicksilver and their C.S. is horrible.. Great detailed comparison Chase 💥
I was trying so hard to be team Capital One, but they have been so customer unfriendly to me. Not too experienced with Chase, but I’d go in that direction most likely. Amex is my one true love, however. ❤❤❤
What kind of experience did Capital One give you? Was it help with a credit card or something? 😱 Also I would give Chase a try! Amex is always a great choice as well 👌🏼 Thank you for watching!
@@ChaseYokoyama I had a really horrible experience attempting to open a business checking account with Capital One here in NYC. They made me do it in branch, took two hours to complete, followed by a terrible phone experience trying to get online access set up for the account, and THEN they called about a week later telling me I had to come back to the branch because they forgot to get me to sign something. I closed the account that day, along with my savings and personal checking accounts. What remains is a Quicksilver One card I got forever ago with a $49 annual fee that they won't let me upgrade and a Savor One card with a dismally low credit limit. I think I must be in one of their buckets, but now that I have experienced Amex for a few months and what it's like to be treated like they value my relationship with them, Capital One just feels worse and worse to stick around with. Sorry for the rant! I guess I'm still mad at them. 😂 Once I hit my SUB on my Amex, I might start looking more seriously at Chase cards.
@@MrBankRelations I wound up going back to Bank of America for my business account. I was trying to move away from them, but I have had my personal checking with them for something like thirty years and I have to admit they have been solid. I'm toying with the idea of moving my business accounts all to Amex though. I have one account there now I am using for tax holding and payments and so far so good. When did I become this person that loves talking about banks so much?? 😂
Capital one because of how the points earning works and how simple it is. I have the Venture and will get the Savor soon (SavorOne might be smarter? but I’m vain and like metal cards😂). Working on my gf’s Delta Platinum amex sign up bonus rn with my AU card.
Thank you..... oh wait ya the Chase trifecta is sexy AF 😆 🔥 A solid list of transfer partners and flexible points will get me excited any day. Thank you for your constant support Reyes (formerly known as Neno) 🙏🏽
Capital One duo! CSR hasn't changed anything in years...and honestly they don't need to. The chase bank ecosystem generates more revenue than Capital One and Amex combine.
Does this mean Chase is comfy sitting at the top? 🤔 Do they need more pressure to make bigger changes? Also that Capital One Duo is solid AF for sure. Thank you for watching! 🔥
Great contents! I just confirmed with capital one more than once and they told me that I cannot combine the points on the savor or savor 1 with venture x bc the savor cards are cash cards. Also she said that when I go to redeem the savor card for say flight ticket, I cannot combine with the venture x points on that same booking. Have you had this problem and how did you resolve it?
You can get the 1.25 cent per point value from using your Chase points to book travel within the Chase portal. You can transfer your Chase points to a travel partner at a 1:1 ratio meaning 1 Chase points is equal to 1 United Mile and so on. Then depending on your hotel or flight you can receive a point valuation of less than 1 cent per point to like 4-5 cents per point. I hope that made sense but lmk if you have further questions 🙏🏽 Thank you for watching!
I like the name Chase better so I’m Team Chase. Oh and their transfer partners are good too. Wouldn’t mind having the Cap One Duo as well but Cap One wants to pick which card I should get next
That for sure would be a better comparison for the CSP 👍🏼 Ill probably have to make a video just on the CSP vs the Venture X rewards. Thank you for watching and leaving that suggestion 🙏🏼
hey Chase, my trifecta is regular Venture, Savor One, and Amex Platinum. I dont think anyone has done a video of this set up yet. what do you think about this setup?
I could see how that would work: Amex Platinum = Travel benefits / credits Savor One: Food / entertainment / streaming services Venture: Catch all As long as you are able to make up the annual fee on the Amex platinum card then it's good. The only thing tho is the Venture X is easier to get back the $395 annual fee as opposed to the $95 on the Venture. The Venture doesn't really have anything useful to recoup the AF.
What if….Chase simplified the Trifecta by hacking off a card like a gangrenous limb…and making the Freedom Unlimited…way OP. They could also make the CSR a bit more sneaky powerful. CSP needs to be razed to the ground and start over. Because the Citi Premier eats it’s lunch.
What's up Matt! 🤙🏼 If Chase is hiring they need to put u in charge of this.... The Citi Premier is what an intro travel card should be. You're 100% right. Imagine a card like that but with the Chase infrastructure and ecosystem to back it up 🤯 Thank you for stopping by 🙏🏼
@@ChaseYokoyama I mean if they put me in charge I’d discontinue the Freedom Flex, Make the Freedom Unlimited 2x (at minimum), and just copy the Premier as the CSP. But then you have to lift the “One Sapphire Rule” or something…I dunno. But yeah, the trifecta needs incredible re-evaluation.
