Along some of the most uncharted tracks in the central Florida area lies one of my favorite operations to chase. CSX's Aloma Local, train number A766. Every summer I make it a point of mine to chase this train at least a handful of times, so here's 2019's version of the elusive Aloma Local! RU-vid's railfan community is a sea of content, but so few people take the time to tell a story with their videos. I love the attention to detail and pace of your voiceovers, telling just as much about the stuff around the train as the train itself and always timed appropriately to keep the video engaging. Excellent work all around. Can't wait for the next one!

Before Aloma Ave was widened, the Aloma Branch was a country railroad all the way to 436. Before that it crossed 436 into Winter Park

Nice video, one correction...Sunrail owned track goes all the way north to the SE Deland siding just north of the Amtrak station, or so I've been told by the station agent there.

Is 2 engines going to be standard on the Aloma A766 from now on ?

I’ve always wondered, how much traffic does Rand see now? As far as I know. It’s down to A766, A784, and A780. Is the yard frequently full, and if so, with what? I would presume rock. I don’t live in the area, but I do Simulate it, and trying to get it to match up is fairly difficult.

I think you're right on the money with those tree trains. A780 is weeknight rock to Taft, A766 drills the yard on Sunday, runs the Aloma Branch M/W, and up to Seville and DeLand T/TH. I think Q456/Q220 (runs as either/or this time of the year) might still be originating in Rand some nights, but its a toss up depending on the amount of outbounds. Kind of a weird situation. Then don't forget all the passenger trains passing by on the mainline

@@FloridaRailfan ah, so to put it bluntly, you have 2 locals serving Aloma and up to DeLand, as well as the yard. Then a train that connects Rand to Taft.

A766 is the only local that I know of, splitting up service between Aloma and DeLand. Then I think A784 is the M-F switcher in Rand. I haven't been around in a while though, so take that with a grain of salt.
