I love this kind of terrain, used to be a lot of trails like this by my parent's house that got closed down and then turned into a damn mountain bike area. I'm like you though, and 2 wheels just weren't for me, 4 wheels just feels so natural and easy.
2 wheel, 4 wheels....2 stroke, 4 stroke. Doesn't matter. Ride what you enjoy. Only thing that matters is that everyone has fun. I love my yz450f...a sport quad is definitely in the near future.
it depends on the trails really. Most bike trails arent wide enough for quads. nothing you can do about that. Dense woods like Virginia you are kinds screwed. Not sure where this is, but looks like alotta fun.
Quad riding on trails is pretty much on easy mode with the exception of a few difficult challenges here and there. Dirt bike riding you always gotta plan your path of travel. Just keeps you on your toes more. Both are extremely fun to ride just be safe out there when you do. Never ride in the woods alone in case a serious accident were to happen you have someone to render aid.
ATV are easier in the woods/trails than dirt bike specially if the rider is not physically fit. Both are amazing and fun in their own ways. Awesome riding and location
Yea I'm lucky to own a super clean low hr '10 YFZ450 Bill Ballance edition & '21 Raptor 700R-SE. They both have unique qualities! The YFZ450 is quicker & racier. *The Raptor 700R is all- around everything w/ an awesome torque monster engine* . #YamahaQuads
Thank you for saying to give space because a few times I've had a atv riding right up behind me and had I got too excited on the throttle it could easily end up terrible for me haha. And obviously the reverse is true on bikes we have to be just as cautious and respectful.
Riding quads imo is more difficult in a different way. On my bike I feel like I’m in control, and it’s not as brutal on my body. On a quad it feels like, sure it’s easy to just roll over shit and you don’t have to pick your path as much, but it’s more of a “you let the quad do it’s thing and hang on for dear life” kinda thing, and it’s super tiring on the arms and body. Especially in technical terrain. Also on a quad you’ve gotta be careful not to constantly be picking your front end up since you lose your ability to steer, on a bike you can pretty much float your front end through whoops or technical sections and lean steer. On a sport quad at least. 4x4 crawlings a different story
A good runnin YFZ450 can run w/any dirtbike out there for most part! The newer FI YFZ has the last Gen YZ450F dirtbike motor.. fortified for quad use. #2010YFZ450BB #2021Raptor700RSE
Except for the last part on the motor being fortified a quad can not run with a bike in the woods. Not if the person on the bike halfway knows what they are doing. I’m not discounting a quad by no means or quad riders. The woods present two different challenges for each style of machine. Watch a gncc quad race on Saturday then watch the bikes on Sunday.
Dang that sucks about your subframe. I wish there were more places to ride like that in Florida. Best one for me is croom national park. If you get this way ever you should check it out.
What bend of bars do you run? Currently have CR high bars on my trx but not sure if I like them or not. Have you ever run atv mod or high on any of your machines?
@@BrewerOffroad exactly! It’s also fun to come across different challenges for different bikes so you get to see a bit of both. It makes for a real adventure.
I actually hear this alot from Raptor guys. They love the torque of a raptor and the power but the delivery of power that the YFZ has is crazy. It hits so quick. It revs up quickly. A properly tuned YFZ is ALOT of fun. If they aren't tuned well they can run like DOG POO haha
Very cool, for dirt bike riders you want to test your skills, go to plunge creek playground, did it last week, I did the full enduro part and all, it will wipe you out, they are awesome guys there also, all will help you through it. Was going to say just plastic cosmetic, then you through in sub frame bent, hope you get it going soon, you’re definitely a good quad rider, Plymouth has a nice quad track also
Youre takin that quad on some trails that I wouldnt even want to take mine on, and yours is wider than mine lol! Tell that man to stand up more on his bike too lol!
Ill give you credit dude. You can ride, id ride with you. Come up to upstate ny, Adirondacks. Tug Hill has a great trail system and there's a few other local trails. Send it!!!
i had a honda 50 dirtbike when i was 6 years old. im 27 now, just last summer my cousin got a dirtbike. i had always wanted a 250 2 stroke. he got a yz 450..and i was like..ok..so i went and bought a crf 450r..and let me tell you. i was so scared. and im a big guy. its challenging to learn. and the bike is super powerful. just respect the bike and you'll be okay. you need to ride it for a while to get use to it. you'll make mistakes. but i encourage you to buy one! i started on a 450 cause im a bigger guy and i didnt wanna get a 250 an be like ok..i need more power. give it a thought man! i ride on flat land. you'd really have to go slow and take your time if you took a 450 to a place liek this its not super trail friendly. too much power. but its doable!
@Cherry I prefer bikes. It comes more natural to me. But if there is a quad to ride on an opportunity to buy one I will definitely jump on it! I'm looking for a project right now but I can't find one... 😢
@Cherry really 500-700 ish all I got to play with. I'm just a high school kid and I really have no money. I feel a raptor would be way out of my budget
@@seanking3254 im 19 and the type of riding i do and like to push the quad but in order to push it i kinda need mods but mods for a quad are really expensive and out of my budget right now
"Every time i ride with guys with dirt bikes, i want a dirt bike. but every time i ride a dirt bike i relegalize im not good enough to ride a dirt bike" take it from a guy that has a best friend that didn't start dirtbikes until early twenties, and now absolutely loves them, go practice. You will love it.
It's funny he keeps saying things about being tough on dirt bikes but dirt bikes will go more places than that four wheeler any day it's all about the rider
Makes me want to go get a 4 wheeler personally I've never riden one it's always been dirtbikes I've been rebuilding my 250 but now I might end up trading it for a 4 wheeler lol
Sick vid, I gotta 2021 Yfz450r with 3.5 hours on it maybe 4 and I was just wondering if I should “properly” break it in with that 20 hour bs, and was wondering if you did it to yours?
As someone who grew up on 4 wheels I was nervous to get a bike just cuz I didn’t think I was good at riding them after about 2 months of seat time I’m faster on 2 wheels
where is this place. I never heard of it. I was thinking of going to Mua Mee off road park out n Dugger IN. I went to attice the past 2 weekends, but I'd like to ride somewhere new
I recently got my yfz405 running with a new carburetor. And I have a full big gun exhaust system on it. When I rev it up fast it likes to bog down but if I rev it up gently it runs fine. What should I change jetting wise?
There is an access road that you could easily get it down in there haha they built the road to help Ambulance access the trails. People get hurt here alot unfortunately
I wonder if that woman was a ghost. Depending on how deep in the woods they are, would be pretty weird for someone to be out there alone in the bushes.
@@BrewerOffroadsorry if I seemed rude, but I thought I was tripping, thanks for responding, good to hear u fixed it and glad ur ok. love the videos too. Keep up the great content and stay safe my brother
Their acceleration is what they are known for as well as their handling. Top speed is only between 70 and 80 mph depending on gearing but they will get there within a couple hundred feet.
@@Catnipisgood Any dealership that sells Yamaha? It's rough getting new machines these days with supply chain issues. Look for a used machine but you are going to pay premium for a 450R right now.
