From 2005, a report on H5N1, also called avian flu, a bird virus ravaging the poultry industry in Asia which has, on rare occasions, infected humans, killing half of its victims. Steve Kroft spoke with Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the government’s Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, for this story. Fauci is stepping down this week.

One more reason to boycott animal products. Ending animal agriculture would greatly reduce the threat of zoonotic diseases like the 1918 Spanish flu, which started in an animal farm in Kansas. Can you refute any of these compelling reasons to boycott animal products? 1-Your own health (vegans are less likely to get the most common chronic, deadly diseases) 2-Helping to end animal agriculture would reduce the chance of another pandemic & other zoonotic diseases 3-Helping to end animal ag would reduce the chance of the development of an antibiotic resistant pathogen. 4-Animal ag wastes a huge amount of fresh water. Each vegan saves 219,000 gallons of water every year! 5-Animal ag is a major cause of water pollution 6-Animal ag is a major cause of deforestation 7-Animal ag increases PTSD and spousal abuse in the people who work in slaughterhouses. Workers in meat packing facilities often endure terrible, dangerous working conditions. 8-Animal ag is a major cause of the loss of habitat and biodiversity 9-Needless killing of innocent, sentient beings cannot be ethically justified. 10- It is the single most effective way for each of us to fight climate change and environmental degradation. 11- Longer lifespan. 12- Healthier weight (vegans were the only dietary group in the Adventist Studies that had an average BMI in the recommended range.) 13- A healthy plant based diet significantly reduces the chances of ED later in life, and even 1 meal can improve bedroom performance 14- Vegetarians and vegans have lower rates of dementia later in life 15- A plant based diet could save money! You could reduce your food budget by one third! 16-A fully plant based diet improves the immune system according to a study published in the journal BMJ Nutrition Prevention & Health 17-A fully plant based food system would greatly reduce food borne illnesses like salmonella 18-A fully plant based food system would be able to feed millions more people. Our population is growing! 19-A fully plant based food system would save 13,000 lives a year from the air pollution caused by animal agriculture, according to a study 20- A vegan world would save 8 million human lives a year, and $1 trillion in health care and related costs (Oxford Study) Links for some of these are at my channel under "About." I agree. One more reason to replace animal agriculture for a fully plant based food system. Most new diseases, epidemics and pandemics are zoonotic, aka come from animals. The 1918 pandemic originated from animal agriculture in Kansas. "WASHINGTON-The world’s addiction to intensive animal farming, in which thousands of stressed animals are kept in close proximity, is the perfect breeding ground for future pandemics, and world leaders must accelerate action to shift global diets towards more plant-based foods, says a white paper authored by global animal protection organisation Humane Society International. HSI identifies five primary pandemic risks associated with animal agriculture, creating a “petri dish” for pathogens to erupt, mutate and spread: 1. virus ‘spillover’: when expansion of farms into previously wild areas brings wild and domestic species together. 2. viral amplification: where novel viral strains are created through confining vast numbers of stressed animals indoors. 3. farm concentration: where dense geographic concentration of farms increases the risk of pathogens spreading. 4. global live animal trade: where huge numbers of live animals are transported between countries and continents, allowing pathogens to spread even further. 5. live animal markets, agricultural fairs and auctions: where “hubs” are created such that animals from many different places are brought into proximity with the public, where viruses can proliferate."- Humane Society International Title and subtitle- "Intensive animal agriculture could spark the next pandemic, says new report, recommending major global shift to more plant proteins Humane Society International identifies five pandemic risks with animal agriculture Humane Society International / United States"

When bird flu struck our country about 15 years ago, we were eating chicken 4 times a day lol. The poultry guys gave us free chicken instead of culling, and at that time good food was hard to come by as we were poor. Humans are now become pusies.
@DannyD-lr5yg
@DannyD-lr5yg Год назад
So, I guess you’d also say humans were “pusies” during the rise of yersinia pestis too, huh? You know - commonly known as the Black Plague.. killed 50% of the entire European population? My point: 1) situations change. “Back in my day” is a stupid and short sighted attitude 2) Being alert-but-not-anxious is wise, healthy, and intelligent - it does not mean you’re weak or being a “pusy” With more and more people on earth every day, encroaching further and further into animals’ territory every day, we WILL see increasing occurrences of horrifically deadly diseases. To believe anything else is to be an idiot lmfao. Your Darwin Award awaits! 🤣

CBS/Viacom fails to provide captions, again, as required by US federal civil rights laws for over 32 years, and as required by FCC regulations. This is start of 3rd calendar year monitoring the small number of FCC licensed corporate TV news broadcasters, who for decades utterly failed to provide captions on news videos published to the internet and on RU-vid, specifically CBS' 60 Minutes. In 2022, CBS began to correct their decades long backlog of failed compliance with 32 year old federal law. That might have been considered progress, but as of this video, that effort to comply with federal law has failed again, in under 1 calendar year. In 2023 I will advance efforts from monitoring and reporting caption failures on RU-vid, by the small handful of multi-billion-dollar-per-year-revenue corporate licensees of FCC, to all regulators of corporations, and their senior shareholders and executives, including reporting to FTC, FCC, SEC, and DOJ. The multi-million dollar fines and penalties-per-incident of civil rights law violations by CBS/Pluto TV will make for 100s of millions of dollars or even billions of dollars to pay toward funding automated policing, inspection, notification, IP blocking (Google's complicity in the civil rights crime, they could have easily avoided with about 6 TOTAL company's RU-vid posted file scans, at negligible expenses (less than their coffee budget for 1 office, for month), using opensource freeware tools in existence) for the DOJ and the other agencies who pursue this self-documented, on-going criminal behavior (thanks to InternetArchives and other services). See FCC.gov "FCC rules require captioned programs shown on TV to be captioned when re-shown on the Internet."
