For toddler's toys, how about bendy straws for structure & some flexibility? I dunno, may be dangerous too if broken or brittle.

I think that might be worth a try. I do use cotton swabs for neck support that I do not put wire in. I don't see why straws would be different.

Hello it’s me again! I am making my first doll and I’m curious about the wires you use. I just started watching. 🤗🥰

After I made this video someone suggested electrical wire - you need to double it up, but is is softer. I have a follow up video if you want to take a look at it. The upside of the softness is that I feel better giving it to kids, the downside is that it isn’t the best neck support. Lol. No perfect choice for me yet. But if you are making it for display only - I think the jewelry wire makes it the most flexible. Hope my videos help with your choice. I know I was very confused on what to use when I started using wires.

Interesting information, thank you!🤗🧶 Would plastic tubing like the air tubing for fish tanks work?

I have not personally tried them, but if the are flexible and make the limbs bend they should work.

Hi dear which wire to used for dolls for children under 12?

Wire for under 8 I wouldn’t recommend. But I did get a suggestion of electric wire for dolls after making this video. I have been trying it out. It is a lot softer and is not likely to scratch. I plan to do a follow up video about it soon.

Plastic encased wire is safest, but yup, you get flexibility, but it's not rigid. I tried a similar one, not the same one you have there. Would also never give a wired doll to a very small child, or a child that rough houses with their toys. Alternately, I used thicker floral wire, bend the ends like you showed, wrapped the heck out of it with tape. Also, for bigger dolls, those foam hair rollers - rubber casing, wire inside and plastic caps on the end - make great "bones". I tape the plastic caps on well too and wrap in tape, coz yah, I'm hyper paranoid about wires, lol. I did this last method for my Clawdia cat doll on Ravelry, and have washed her in the machine since. So far, so safe. For thinner floral wire, I double the length I need and twist it together for extra strength as it is fragile feeling. Of a truth, I'm still not comfy on a safe way to insert wire for fingers. Hm.

How did I miss your comment! You are so right! I am starting to lean towards making dolls without fingers! Lol who knows. But ant one that has wires in the fingers are definitely display only!
