This is the first in a series of testing ChatGPT 4 against puzzle games like Portal. Any requests will be considered! Also I really adore how much ChatGPT approves of GLaDOS xD
I realize now that this video is using ChatGPT 4 voice NOT ChatpGPT 4o voice. Well, it had me fooled. Thanks for you commenters pointing that out! I've sense edited the title of this video to reflect that. I don't like that the app displays 4o before you've tapped the headphones icon, as I said, I really thought that was 4o and was disappointed in the difference between the voice I heard vs the tech demos OpenAI realized since I paid to get access to 4o. Oh well, goes to show I'm a sucker.
Anyway, I hope you'll join me for more testing soon! For science, of course ;)

I think partly why it's not able to function the way we were seeing in the presentation is it still trying to transcribe your voice and generate text. Where is the model they showed off it wasn't doing that it was directly understanding of what is happening, sounds and voice, and responding to that.

I just changed the title of the video to reflect the fact it's chatgpt 4, not 4o. What you're saying makes sense. Apologies for the click bait (it had me convinced)! I'll be trying it out again once 4o rolls out for me. I realize now why I couldn't get it to tell a story with dynamic range like in the presentation.

This is not gpt4o. They have not rolled out the new functions, gpt4o is text only for the next few weeks.

I dont think people realise gpt4o 'voice' isnt released yet. It still used the old voice system with the gpt4o model.

I've now seen the tweet Sam Altman made acknowledging that only text is out right now, and a video called "How to know you've got the new OpenAI VOICE model" by I vs AI which I recommend.
