Well said!!!! I’m always as kind as I can be to people because you have absolutely no idea what they’re going through! Even people who seem to be jerks, a lot of the times there’s a reason for it - they’re struggling with something (but of course, there are people who are just jerks 😂 but that doesn’t mean I need to go down to their level!). I’ve always tried to treat people how I would want to be treated, and I think more people should do that!

I just want to say that 3 things hit home with me that you said in this video and I agree whole heartedly with you. 1. We only have 1 life and it's short. I always say, "This is not a dress rehearsal" 2. Employees should be paid well. Our U.S. minimum wage is horrible. In my opinion, no one should be paid less than $20/hr. As the old adage goes, "You get what you pay for". and 3. Treat everyone with kindness. That includes comments left on videos and vlogs. I become so incensed when seeing hateful comments! I was with you during all of your tough times this year and being an empath, I felt your sadness and pain. I don't always leave comments but I'm still here! We almost lost our son in a horrific motorcycle accident at the end of Aug. this year. He spent 6 weeks in a trauma hospital. He has a long journey ahead but he is a miracle especially after suffering many broken bones and a brain bleed. So, I'm right with you on hoping and praying for a much better 2024! Here's to Us and so many others, Risa🥂

It’s crazy how something so small, that someone may do, can have an impact on us personally, and they don’t even realize it. I WISH I could do lashes. I totally agree! Risa is one of those people that I feel I could meet in real life and she would be just as nice in person as she is on video. Very genuine. My parents are 87 and 82 married 61 years seeing tgem age has hit me gard this year I'm cherishing every moment i get. I have been so emotional over so much lately. I lost my youngest sister to cancer, my dad to complications of Parkinson’s, my Aunt, my cousin suddenly, to sepsis and my dog ( Pomeranian) ( he was 15 yrs old and also had kidney disease) all in the space of two years apart…. some seasons in life are brutal. Wishing you the very best in 2024❤🙏🤗

I was very close with my maternal grandmother and was so glad that she lived as long as she did too. I still miss her although it's been 17 years. Geesh, I can hardly believe it's been that long. Time really flies by once you get older. I'm 54. I'm so sorry for your loss & how it happened. She must've been your biggest RU-vid fan. ❤

I really enjoyed your video. I lost my shih tzu after 12 years and it took me over 2-3 years to not cry when I saw one the same colour. I still, 9 years later think of him and how much love he showed me.❤❤❤

Oh Risa. I’m so sorry for all the loss you’ve experienced this past year. I too lost both my labs in a 18mo span and it still hurts. Risa that thought of you being in pain meds never crossed my mind. My daughter has had a broken spine for one full year. Year from hell for sure. We think it’s finally fixed this time after failed surgeries. It has been horrible and with sepsis in between. Oh and gabapentin made me completely loopy and made my bowels not work properly. It was one of the worst, embarrassing things ever! You’re fine. We all have things happen. Much,I’ve and a better 2”24.❤️❤️❤️

I was 49 when I lost my grandmother. She was 89, and passed on my birthday, it'll be 10 years ago this coming February. I completely get how difficult 2023 was. Even though my grandma was already gone, last year wasn't the best for my family either, and like you, I'm happy to see it in my rear view mirror. Chin up girl, things will get better!

@@onewhisper22005Yes, and everyone's "OBSESSED" and you "MUST try" this product or that product blah blah blah. It feels too superficial and fast-paced for me. That's a generalization, of course. My mother-in-law has shown me some Tik-Toks that are cute or funny or whatever but I don't get any joy out of scrolling through short form videos, except maybe for artists showing their craft. I really enjoy having a RU-vid video on while I do my makeup or skin care or even while I am folding laundry or washing dishes. Long-form content has it for me, and RU-vidrs like Risa are such a pleasure to watch.

We just recently went through the same thing with our 15yr old shih-zhu/yorkie mix. We got her when she was 3 mos old. She was deaf, mostly blind, stopped eating, and we were told to just make her as comfortable as possible. We had decided it was time to let her go, but before we could get to the vet, she passed in her sleep. It's so hard, can so relate. I also live with daily chronic pain due to a back/spine issue. I have not been put on anything yet other than OTC meds (Due to allergies). I've only just recently discovered your channel, and I am really enjoying it. Happy New Year!

Risa, we are blessed to share your highs and lows with you throughout the year. You're a joy to watch and learn new ways to apply makeup and look stunning. Take care of the herniated discs because they are no fun. I had 2 bulging discs this year and it took about the full year through massage and PT to get me back to somewhat normal. I'm not perfect but I'm walking and painless. Your video was a great way to talk about the year in review - highs and lows, health, and what life throws at us. I'm sorry for your loss! 😢 I feel your pain as you speak of your furry baby. I recently lost a rescue girl that was only with us for 10 months. She had heartworms when we rescued from where she had been dumped. She had been mistreated it seems most of her life. She knew love before she had to be put to sleep though, and ohhh, the joy she brought to my life. I am so Thankful for the time she changed my entire life, although that time was extremely short with us. Thank you for sharing your humanity and loving heart in your story time today. Bless you!❤

Risa, I can identify with you and your difficult year. I am so sorry. I am your age and in December 2022 lost my grandpa. He was an amazing man. Then on Christmas eve 2022 I came home to find my 13 year old boxer rescue suddenly unable to walk. Due to the holidays, I couldn't get her care for several days but finally got an at home veterinarian to come to put her to sleep. Then in November 2023 I lost my grandma. Although both grandparents lived long lives, a loss is still a loss.❤

Risa, I have been watching you for a couple of years and find your approach to be genuine! Please don't change who you are. As for your back/neck issues I can completely relate. March 1, 23 changed my world. I randomly developed sciatica... horrible pain, and just graduated from PT today. It's been a rough year. I've been on Gabapentin too. I cannot function on it. So, I'm impressed you can be on camera. I am a seamstress and found that I couldn't do simple things while on Gabapentin. I couldn't form simple thoughts. I hope you feel better and get relief. It's a long road.

Risa - First, I’m so sorry for your losses - I have experienced both & more & you never really get over them - it’s a hard thing - I have been watching you since you had about 35,000 subscribers & I remember one video when you talked about being discouraged & wondered if you should continue - so glad you did & you should be very proud of yourself - you are a true success story & you have stayed true to who you are - there are many influencers who totally changed, got so full of themselves, when they became successful, that I just can’t stand to watch them anymore - just remember that with some people, the only way they can feel good about themselves is to try to make others feel bad and/or less than - I’m glad you are feeling better & hope you can get off the gabapentin soon - I’ve taken that before for migraine prevention & just couldn’t stand the way it made me feel - anyway, blessings & happy 2024 from (cold right now but still sunny) Central Florida 😎

This made me cry! I just found you recently in a desperate search for someone to help me with my makeup. Perimenopause just might throw me over the edge! I feel like an emotional train wreck that looks like a wrinkled old hag! 😫 😢 Why can’t people just be nice. Nobody knows what anyone is going through.. I lost my grandma in 2019 and my dad very unexpectedly in 2020. Now perimenopause. Let’s just grief and peri Do NOT mix well. My heart is with you! Pets are so difficult. What you want is not always the best for them. I am 75 with a memory of many of my pets. I still miss them all and go through photos periodically 😢

Wow, so you and Samantha Marge went through losing your pets around the same time it is definitely hard I also just lost my grandmother. She was 101. It is a blessing to have them in our lives as long as we did I am 42.

I have been watching your channel for quite some time and will continue watching. I am so sorry for your lose. I lost my Tibetan Spaniel "Ninni" in March, she was only 13 years old. My younger brother died a week later. So, I know how heart breaking your loss is. I still haven't gotten over mine. Probably, never will. My heart is so with you. I lost my grandpa in October due to a fall. He battled dementia and was taking a turn for the worst. He passed away in peace, and that was all I could pray for. When we see that, it takes a toll on how we feel about getting older. I love every day of this life God has blessed me with, with 48 years and counting. You are a beautiful person inside and out. Even though we only see through your videos, your personality comes through the camera, so genuinely. God Bless You and your Family always ❤😊❤😊!!!

I'm so sorry for your losses this last year. Hang in there with the disc issues; I have them too, and PT really has helped over the years. I didn't realize you were a Michigan girl. I was born and raised there (west Michigan, northwest of Grand Rapids). I live in the UP now. You are beautiful--inside and out.

You were very fortunate to have had your Grandma for a long time. My Aunt fell and was never the same after that and passed at 92. I feel that pain viscerally.❤

When I get an unexpected compliment, it makes me feel so good. So I try to find something nice to say everyday to someone to make them feel good too. There is so much hate and anger in the world. I love ❤️ the person you are Risa I always have! I’ve been subscribed to you for years and years and I never miss a video. You have never slurred your speech and you’re in a lot of pain so of course you’re taking something for the pain we don’t want you in pain. I’m sorry it’s been such a tough year. I can relate to a lot of the things you went through this year. We lost my grandpa this year, I moved to a new State all on my own where I didn’t know anyone and it’s been really hard especially the holidays. I moved for work but I’m a huge family person and I miss my family so much. You should be so incredibly proud of your lashes you created with BK Beauty! I don’t know who the big big influencer was that tossed your lashes aside in a PR unboxing but I know it hurt your feelings it would hurt mine. I consider you to be a big influencer/content creator! I love ❤️ that you haven’t stopped doing long format videos, I love your content and I love you! I hope your physical therapy is helping your back. Risa, I am so sorry about your fur baby. I lost my fur baby 1.5 years ago to bladder cancer. She literally ripped my soul out when we had her put down. ( She was 14 yrs old) A phrase I saw that I loved..... "Between the first hello and the last good-bye, there was love, SO MUCH LOVE"❤ Wishing you a much better 2024!!!!!!!!!

I'm so deeply sorry the loss of your grandms. I was blessed too to have my Granimal until 48. She was 95 when I lost her. My grandfather passed away a month before his 98th birthday and 2 months before my oldest was born. I was 36. I know that shes watching over you as well as very proud of you.

Thank you for sharing your feelings Risa, please never feel bad about crying. Anyone that has watched your channel for awhile knows your heart. I'm truly sorry you are still having pain, I didn't want to ask if your injury was resolved, was hoping it was. Chronic pain is difficult, the pain medication hopefully takes the edge off for you. I deal with chronic pain after a doctor pierced my spinal cord during a cervical epidural in 2003. His negligence caused paralysis in my right hand, arm, shoulder and breast. So please be careful and confident in your doctor before considering that procedure. After 20 years some of the nerves are rebuilding, I'm having feeling where the numbness has been for years. Unfortunately as the nerves are rebuilding its very painful but I have hope that someday I'll write with my right hand again 😊 and the pain won't be as bad. Take it all one day at a time. Through my experience, not gonna lie, most days are tough, but go out when you're energy is there, it really makes a difference. I'm so sorry for your loss, it's so difficult 🌹💔. I'm sending so much love and hugs your way. You're doing great Risa, I think you're a rockstarrrrr. 💕✨️💕✨️

I do enjoy how you do your videos. They're very good yet relaxed and so personal and I think the audience can see your natural emotion if that makes any sense at all lol. You spoke about how short life is and how basically not one of us is promised tomorrow which hit home for me. Almost 6 years ago when I was 40 and my husband was 45, he developed a very aggressive form of cancer and also ended up having a massive stroke. I've been a nurse for @ 20 years, thank goodness, so I was able to care for him the 10 months he had the cancer. Unfortunately he passed after those 10 months but that was very much a wake up call for me. I always thought we would just live up thru our 80s, at least and just couldn't believe I became a widow in my 40s. We have 4 children, two grown and the two youngest are now elementary age but our youngest was just 15 months old when he passed. Thankfully I leaned into my faith because I don't know how I could've gotten thru what we have. So from that point on, I don't take a single day for granted and show our kids all the love I can since he's been gone., because we aren't promised tomorrow. Oh and along with leaning into my faith that's when I first started watching your channel along with other beauty content creators and cooking type content here on RU-vid. Watching your channel has always lifted my spirits and I just truly enjoy yours and Lisa's channel along with other creators but you both are my favorites. Even though you don't know me I just want you to know that you truly have been a help to me, since 2018, just by you sharing content for us to watch . You're such a beautiful lady both inside and out❤❤❤❤

When I was in my late 40's I decided that the way I had been going at my makeup was not working any longer. That's about the time I turned to RU-vid and found you shortly thereafter. I have been watching you for quite awhile now and don’t usually comment but thought I would pop on and say Thank you for all the content. I really enjoy your videos. So sorry about your fur baby, we had to put ours out of her pain in Dec 2021 and I still have moments where I’ll think of her and end up tearing up. A friend, who used to adopt older dogs, said that when the dogs passed away they put their collars on their Christmas tree. We did the same and I have found it to be a comfort.

I am so sorry for the loss of your sweet dog. Our oldest dog is 17 and is going blind and deaf. It’s going to be so sad and difficult to loose her. It’s like loosing a family member.
