With over 20 years experience as a makeup artist, I started my channel to share all of the tips and tricks I have learned with YOU! I review the latest beauty products, create in-depth, up close tutorials, and cater to women over 40! Hooded eyes are my specialty as I have them myself! I hope you will check out my channel and subscribe!
I ordered from Scott Barnes and never received the product. They wouldn't respond to my emails, I had to open a case and file a report to get my money back
I have been using 2 red light therapy devices for almost 3 years. A mask and a small panel. They have greatly improved my texture and tone! The key is consistency!
I have been using an LED mask for a year and when I get busy and forget I really notice the difference. I LOVE it. But research has shown that you should keep your eyes closed while using them. "When LED masks are used as directed-which can include wearing protective goggles, keeping your eyes shut, and affixing the mask to your face correctly-the devices shouldn't pose a high risk for eye health, Michele Green, MD, a board-certified cosmetic dermatologist in New York City, tells SELF."
Interesting! Thanks for sharing! When I watch TV with it on I typically lay on my back on angle so I’m sort of looking up at it, not getting the red in my field of vision. It’s something I’ll be sure to mention in my update!
Hi, Risa! Have you ever considered Prime Prometics eye lash serum? I’m 71 and have the best lashes I’ve ever had! Long, full and best of all, they stay curled to the point I no longer use a curler!
Hey people just coming on to comment re: the dark spots and pigmentation. I have a rather large sunspot (looks like a bruise and I get really self conscious) right near my eye that's only popped up in the past two years. I have had three Lazer sessions and only one time worked (that was due to the two therapists doing completely different techniques so only one lady did it properly) it did reduce the darkness and the inner pigmentation and I will eventually do it again. However.... A really great thing for me that actually worked was castor oil. I put a dab on it before bed and it's gotten so light that I can now easily cover it with concealer or foundation. Another thing my friend really recommends is a few teaspoons of baking soda with water mixed into a paste and dabbing it under the eyes for five or ten mins in the morning for dark circles and on any facial pigmentation then wash off. I'm yet to try it but she did send pics and without a doubt it really worked. I'll stick to the castor oil (in moderation as first few times I got milia) so not to heavy handed. It has to be organic pressed castor oil in a dark bottle. I live in New Zealand so wouldn't be worth sharing the one I use but as long as it's in a dark glass bottle and organic pressed it will be processed the same. It lasts forever. Sometimes I use my 0.5mm derma roller and I find it really helps penetrate the skin. Castor oil works for absolutely anything cosmetic. Hope this helps but remember each person has different skin types so what works for me might not work for everyone.
My favorite go to is mixing my cover girl ageless with my moisturizer. I blend with a kabuki brush and it’s a beautiful finish. I very lightly use a glowing powder under my eyes and top of cheekbones. I use a cream eyeshadow , and blend …best with my fingers. ( that’s my first makeup step.) Toned down really is my friend😮😅 I also use a green tinted primer to reduce redness. I also put Vaseline under my eyes and around crows feet on nights I want to focus on moisturizing..not on nights when I use an eye serum though.
Hi Risa! I'm not completely sure, but I think that I heard Jen Phelps talking about the Lamora palette as a dupe for the 'I need a nude palette'. Greetings from Spain!!
I’m approaching 73 very fast and I am still very interested in looking my best. Thank you for all your instructions, advice, reviews and suggestions. At my age I am sure you can understand that my skin has different pigmentations in different areas almost overnight. That’s ok, what’s not ok is not being interested in ways to feel good about the way I present myself. Thank you again.
Please Risa, keep us posted about your results with the eyelash serum. Some time ago I used the Grande serum, got amazing results, but also got ugly dark circles under my eyes. I´d love to know if the one you´re using does not have sides effects. Thank you.
I have been using SKINN Divine Elixer Luminous Eye Oil that I buy from QVC for at least 2 years. The oil soaks in rapidly and makes my concealer go on much easier and has helped tremendously with my dry under eyes. I will try the aquaphor to compare the two. Thank you.
I don’t mean to come in twice, but can you tell me what you mean by you’re already seeing results on the mask? And I really think it’s cute that your dog is freaked out by it lol/definitely talk about Tom Ford because we like similar foundations
I understand people want to put those serums on their eyes, but Risa you and I are old enough to know that that sort of thing comes with a lot of risk and eventually they’re going to pull it from the market. I just don’t think it’s a good idea to put anything chemical around your eyes. My vision is way more important so I’m with you. Make it clean.
I use regular Aquaphor Healing Ointment at night before bedtime on my lips and on my face after applying Vitamin C serum and moisturizer to seal everything in and to help protect my skin barrier. I didn’t even know that Aquaphor came in a lip balm form. I’m looking forward to giving this a try. I once read that Marilyn Monroe used to use Vaseline Petroleum Jelly on her skin before putting on her foundation and her skin and makeup always looked amazing.
Risa, I have been using the Current Body Face and neck/chest masks for 3 years. They have made an incredible difference to my skin. My before and after pictures are astounding. The devices are expensive and worth it.
I needed to comment on your eyes: contrary to what you said, as a viewer of several years I am actually "gobsmacked"!! I can't believe that those are your lashes and not falsies 😍 I don't know if it was due to your perfect wing liner, but at times when you were lowering your eyes, we could see that your lashes were even longer and fuller than with your eyes wide open, I'm amazed 🤩 That healthy serum is working wonders on you, don't stop using it 😊!!
Two things that have helped me with being more comfortable with my bare skin is to remember that once your full look is done, any perceived flaws are far less obvious and in the hot months especially, less is more. If the weather wrecks your makeup, that looks worse than whatever your bare face looked like. I call it the chipped nail polish theory- no one really notices your nails unless the polish is chipped. I have issues with mascara under the best of circumstances and in the summer so instead of dealing with the smudging in the heat, I get them tinted or just do without.
The lamora eyeshadow palette just came back in stock on canadian amazon i was waiting months since i hesrd you mentionvit the nude one now i finally know and regret not trying it earlier
