Chatura 2021 is NUS Indian Instrumental Ensemble's Semester 1 Showcase for AY 21/22. This student-led showcase is an exploration of how instruments from different genres can complement each other in the process of innovating Indian Classical Music.
The show starts with a traditional Carnatic composition in the raga Gambhira Nattai. This is followed by a confluence of the ragas Shanmukhapriya and Dhanashree through a more contemporary light. The third piece explores Indian Classical Music through a dialogue between Carnatic and Hindustani music. The show ends with a soulful fusion of film music and classical music in the piece 'Midnight Medley'.
