The blade tip is pointier then my 229 because my Street is a Tanto vs my 229 is a drop point. The Street is a great EDC knife and cuts well, but I do prefer the size of the 229 better. Plus the 229 doesn't have jimping on the scale where your thumb lands and it's just more comfortable to hold and use, but it would be slippier if your hands got wet. I also think the 229 is sharper because the blade stock is as thick between the two knives, and they both have a hollow grind in the belly, but the 229 is taller. That means on the 229 the blade angle can be lower and slicer because it's taller with the same stock thickness and final bevil angle. The 229 definitely cuts through boxes better because of the blade and because it's bigger. But I definitely like the Street because it gives me an option to carry a medium sized knife that's heavier duty when I can't carry the bigger knife. Like we need an excuse to buy another knife 😂

@@appalachianadvrider Mann I'm in that dilemma right now. I don't know what the hell it is! I'm literally addicted to window shopping for knives online and then making almost what feels like impulse purchases! Am I going crazy ?! 😂 I also make knives too and am trying to ramp up on that more and that in itself takes up a lot of funds. With that, on top of buying knives and then normal every day/monthly expenses.. it's going to leave me destitute!! 😆

@@GerstBladeworks I know I need therapy lol. I know it will be very rare that I will carry the smaller knife over the larger one, but I had to have both lol. At least I decided against getting another 229 in the tanto and got something with more differences, even though I might not carry it because it's smaller bahahaha. If that makes sense to you then you are crazy like me lol. Congrats on the knife making thing! What you making - a fixed or a folder? You wouldn't happen to be working in Wilkesboro NC?

@@appalachianadvrider Haha! I know the feeling, I can definitely relate. No, I'm not in NC, but I'm also not that far ! I'm over in Virginia Beach, I'm just a few miles from the NC border !

They why is "because" ... And just say whatever. It's because I want it! Lol. I normally like larger knives but there is something I just live about the street in the tanto blade. It's getting a ton of pocket time!

I really like the Street. I like a bigger knife normally, so I had to almost force myself to carry it more, but I really do love it. And that tanto blade is just so functional and is wickedly sharp. Congrats on your purchase and let me know what you think of it after you have used it for a bit

Yes sir! I will. I went with the tanto as well. It’s going to be my first nice frame lock knife so I’m pretty pumped. The grinds on the blade look so damn good too. Cant wait to feel the heft of it. Most of my knifes are on the smaller side

@@doughester3086 I like the control you have with that knife and tanto blade for piercing packages in particular. Also the flat grind on the tip is great for shaving, like if you wanted to feather shave a stick for a fire etc. The stock at the spine is thick, so there is a trade off, but I do prefer this harder use blade shape for my EDC use. Utility cuts are okay because you can use that secondary bevel on the belly ... I just like the overall composition and the trade-offs for what I'm getting
