Clean off the rust on the truck where the old running board brackets were and spray some Rustoleum to cover up the metal. It'll help keep the rust at bay.
Now that he has some time while waiting that's great advice. That's what I logged on to suggest. Randy, clean it up and coat it well. Add a a rhinoline type coat as too. Hopefully you cleaned up those dash parts as well.
@@jonbolliger1912 Right you are. Good tip on using the rhinoline, it really protects. If you want to see builds that are almost ocd as far as meticulous check out Sarah n tuned. She's an ex military mechanic who cleans everything spotless when she replaces parts.
love the truck. looks so badass and cool, the new chrome grill, and headlights. makes it look so much better. my opinion looks so much better without running boards. makes a cleaner look. such a beautiful truck.
Oh I wanted to say in closing. I love the way you review the cars, how much revenue, expense and you include the video income too which is great! I'm getting ready to start my channel and this motivates me.
Grill looks great! Since you saved money on it with a small defect you might be able to use those savings for a bug guard and hide the defect, along with add a nice bug guard kill two birds with one stone and savings on the defective grill pays for guard. 🤔 just a thought. I think you need to put that truck up on a lift, power wash the heck out of the frame and undercarriage, let it all dry good and undercoat it good, then put those running boards on when ever you get the right brackets. 👍😉
Gidday, I am keen to see the size of that concrete slab that you found on your property. If it is big enough for your shop, that will save you a lot of money.
From the owner of many 7.3s - towing without turning off OD will NOT burn up your trans. It's helpful to use it sometimes, but it's absolutely not needed. I have 320k on one of my trucks, original trans, towing upwards of 15k, never used OD, no trans issues. Get yourself a 6.0 transmission cooler upgrade, THAT is the best upgrade for that trans you can get.
I don't know what looks worse. A bar that has flaking paint or a bar that has flaking chrome. I think the chrome. I would give those running boards 6 to 8 months before the chrome comes off.
found you and subbed about a year ago just before you hit 100k subs. i think it was 75k. facebook followed and shared. love the channel. love the content. love that you are learning diesel now. i am learning with you. love the older cars and especially the GMC truck. the Porsche is interesting. different kind of engine. i am also a GM fan. i really would like to see more work, you actually doing it. even if it is time lapsed. instead of the cut to, its done, this is what i did. its not very helpful. you have been doing that a lot lately. please keep up the wonderful work you do. i love following your story as well. the house, the future shop, etc. when i first found you, i even went back and binge watched your uberman older videos and your story. thank you for sharing it. i am very curious, what is wrapped in plastic stacked behind you when you are sitting in the room at the end of the video. i know its not my business, but i am very curious.
Noted that you didn't seem to protect the back of the sills before placing the brackets for the running boards, which is disappointing. Perhaps twisting the propshafts may show which have a UJ problem.
Whassup Buttercup! Anyhow, I agree with treating those rust areas where the old foot rails were. Maybe Weird Beard could help you fabricate some custom brackets using the old ones as a pattern? Hope you come out on top with the Porsche. Brother, I would list it @ $14,995.00 considering. Stay on the up N up!
I'll be honest, I'll miss the Porsche. You know what though, Randy? Maybe when you get settled with the new home and your licenses, another one will pop up that you could bid on. You just never know.
You took 10 years off of the age your truck looks with the new headlights and grille, they both look great! Nice job, Randy. By the way, I thought the truck looked way better without the running boards on it than with them. Even if you do get the bracketry worked out, the diameter looked too small for this size of truck in my opinion. By the way, regarding the bracket issues, is it possible that they were labeled correctly as far as the side of the truck that they were intended for but maybe when you installed them , you did so backwards?
Man you are a beast. Thanks for setting an example with your hard work, positive attitude and by being so humble! I watch you and I just wanna start wrenching!
Two things suggested, wire brush on a drill motor to the rust on the frame where the brackets were, then paint 'em....have the old step rails media blasted and painted or powder coated and remount them...or run with out any, they're nearly useless. The Chinese chrome will never last, and since they don't fit, put that coin towards the paint/powder coating. Personally I think the truck looks better without
9:30,,, I used to use a bench vise to change out the U-Joints on a drive shaft,, Just use sockets and you turn your vise into a horizontal press,,, :-)
The thump also could be in the rear end. I had one that was thumping and then i found out there was a broken pin in the rear end after the axle shaft came out going down the road and the rear of my ford hit the ground.
OMG! Randy, I just finished watching a FBI TV show and as I'm watching your video, I saw what looked like air tight weed packed by the lbs behind your head, when you're speaking at the end of the video. LMAO
Had a major disappointment yesterday though it does open up quite a bit of possibilities. Honestly I’m happy you’re going to sell the Porsche. It’s sad but it’s good for the channel and you’re growing very quickly man congrats 🤘😁👍
I agree, those running boards are not the best for that truck. And you need to fix that driver side seat or put a seat cover on it. Try these at Summit Racing .. They can be had in Black or Brushed Aluminum finish and are 6" wide ... Under $300 plus postage. You might also find them at a local off road shop or maybe even at Ford dealer .... www.summitracing.com/parts/rpt-1703-0366bt/overview/make/ford/model/f-250-super-duty
Good video! Grill looks great! Looks good too w/o running boards. I'd scrape the heavy rust off your frame with a wire brush then treat the frame there with Loctite Extend Rust Neutralizer. Stuff is amazing & only bonds to rust. Dries to black primer. Also sold under their Permatex brand. Spray or liquid. Foam brush works well.
Love the more modern grill. Also I really like the clean look without the running boards. If you need I have the blinker/wiper switch that I think will fit your F-250. I bought it from Amazon for my 98 explorer but ended up not being the problem. So its brand new & never been used.
We haul in OD all the time with the old 7.3s ... up to about 14k lbs never a problem even in the NW Arkansas hills... If you get a lot of hunting back and forth then sure, lock it out but as flat as OK is, no point in it..
try this buddy from me brendan from ireland see if this works .on the plastics like the sun bleached plastics on bumpers and on the wheel arch wing u have there use a heat gun on the plastics its supposed to bring the sun-bleached plastics trim com back to original again m8t might be worth a try
usually with those cheap running boards the Chinese tend to label brackets backwards , passenger side it always drivers side and vice versa, I had the same issue ..lol
Smart move on selling the Porsche. It needs to make you money just like the other cars you buy. It was good for content but by selling it you can buy other cars for content. Did you buy the Buick? You can grow your channel by flipping cars. That brings me coming back.
Love the grill but hate the black ford logo Never use anything other than classic blue ford logo The black looks like garbage reminds me too much of a Kia badge Blue logo is the best
