@@OldGriz708 I live in Florida, so I dont have to deal with the snow but I can tell you, they put off almost no heat, so they're not going to be good at melting the snow off your headlights. Your best bet is to do the wiring upgrade for your headlights and stick with sealed beam headlights.
I've got the same headlights in my XJ. I installed them about 3 months ago. They are brighter than the old, standard headlamps with a lot more side to side spread. Though they don't cast down the road very far in the low beam setting. High beam is amazing. The only difference I did when installing them was that to make the Daytime Running Lights actually work properly as a DRL, I wired mine to a switched power source. Meaning that when the Jeep is on, that circuit gets power all the time. So my side markers or running light don't have to be on. Therefore they are an actual DRL, always on. Its a personal choice really. I do drive my XJ on the road so I wanted the added visibility. Not that its hard to miss a large, lifted, black Jeep, but some people are just idiots. ;)
I put a set similar to these in my 98 xj. Mine have the blue "evil eyes" I have hooked up to my marker light system. The only problem is with the headlight delay module making them go "wacky" when the ignition is switched on. Some of these lights that have the extra wire may need the delay module unhooked for them to work properly. The led's are definitly better than the stock bulbs that these xj's have. I love mine, highs and lows are way brighter and imo they shine further. I had upraded them to projector style with high intensity bulbs previously but they sucked compared to these style led's
Bought my xj with the led heads already installed.....guy deff wired to green lol...now i know why my drl's flash on and off with the turn signal...thanks for solving that mystery for me. 👍🤙
Just a heads up, I did this upgrade and if you have a 1990 xj like myself, the constant power wire will be the blue/green wire. NOT the brown wire. Great video tho, helped a lot.
Hey man, I just want to say thank you!! I found this video and ordered these lights and just got them installed and I love them! It was SOOOOO EASY!!!!!! Thank you so much you’re doing an awesome job!!
I ordered these same pair from Amazon. Should be here tomorrow. I actually wouldn't mind them blinking on/off when the blinker is activated. A lot of new model cars have this function as a safety feature. It's much easier to tell that the vehicle has its blinker on when the headlight blinks with it and not 'drowning out' the blinker. (esp during night driving in city traffic)
I have the same lights on my 99 XJ. I drove 600 miles from State to state and so far they are working really well. Visibility is worlds better at night vrs stock.
I really appreciate you doing this video. My 16 year old just picked up a 94 Xj as his first car. We picked up these lights and he wired them up this evening!! Night and day difference.
I literally fitted these today in the UK, i need to set up my beam pattern better as they are SO bright....BTW in the UK if you do get them, they have a side light which lights up the middle and edges...looks great
I hooked up to the green wire on passenger side same as you, same result. I hooked up to the green wire on the drivers side but it worked with the blinker.
Your video just answered the question to my problem. Both of these side marker lights are (+) just depends which one you use that will supply either constant or varying current. This was driving me nuts for the past couple days 😅 glad I finally watched this video. My LEDS just arrived today and they come with 2 DRL or halos. One is amber and other white so I was so confused as to how this would work! But now I can see clearly what to do and also I can choose which light combinations I want and function. Thanks!
I just installed 85 watt Creed LED headlights on my 1990 XJ living in the mountains of Virginia I am very pleased with the performance of the headlights .
Correct me if im wrong. But wouldnt you wanna tie the daytime running light to a source that turns on with the ignition. You shouldnt have to turn on your parking lights for them to be on.
how do these perform? you've had them for nearly a year to test, are they functional? Do they work as well as they should, compared to the original Headlamps? Have they gotten or turned Dim? We'd appreciate a follow up video, thanks.
They have held up well. I dont daily this jeep, but they see a lot of offroad in both summer and now winter conditions and they still work like new. Just discovered some moisture behind one of them last week but it's gone now. Hope this helps. For the price I am still really happy with them
@@MuddyBeards4X4 thank you, that was a quick reply. lol I appreciate the info, I'm looking into buying a pair for my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport, but I've apprehensive about buying projector lights, or LED, or HID lights, or CREED light. The standard Sylvania/GE standard lights are horrible, and practically useless. I need additional lightening at night, I'm 55 yoa, and my eyes are not the best at night. lol But, I'm still a safe driver, fyi. Thanks for posting your video, you did a good job on it.
Well thank you. You could also look into upgrading the harness. I believe a company call kspension makes a harness upgrade that significantly increases the output of the stock lighting system.

Okay i buy the same , have a question ? i connect the two wire to the side corner light ,Okay my question what color wire i connect to the corner light
so heres the thing, my wife is a mail carrier and she drives a right hand drive xj. she needs more field of view to the sides to help her see the mail boxes. do these give better visibility in that regard compared to stock? ive been thinking maybe just get some weak/dim fog lights and aiming them off to the sides for her but it would look goofy for sure.
They are definitely far better then stock. They actually project out to the sides pretty well. The straight ahead projection could be better but still better than stock.
What do you do with the parkers? I have a 94 xj and silly me I stalled my drl to my parkers and I have a plunger switch and its been bugging out since installation, now I can change it up, I would like to know what you did with the parkers wiring
My passenger side I can't get to work properly. Driverside works like it should. But I can't get the drl to work on passenger side. It just stays as the blinker even tho I have the right wires hooked up.
@@MuddyBeards4X4 any chance you know what it could be. I just tested both lights on the driver side and they work like they should. But neither work ok passenger side despite being hooked up to the correct wires.
Any idea if these are street legal? Not sure if they'd be in the same category as a light bar. Looking to upgrade my daily. Current headlights barely show the road if another car is heading my direction.
I just got these and installed on my 99 XJ, my brand new battery is dead and won’t find charge now which is weird. Anyone else have issues with these draining the battery?
When wiring to constant power on the marker light, will the DRL only come on if the parking lights are on? Or do the DRL turn on alone when the Jeep is running.
If you wire to the marker light yes the marker light needs to be switch on. If you want to drl to turn on with the truck then you need to splice into an ignition hot source or wire up to a switch.
I bought these led headlights from Amazon as well. But they are not working right when i switch to high beam they will not switch back to low beam .I reported this to Amazon but they only sent a new lights and wiring. It does the same thing. Any one know what's wrong?
Anyone have a problem with their low beams point towards the ground a little too much without being able to adjust them, because there’s a significant gap between the low beam and high beam and I’m not sure if it’s a default or I have a faulty one
@@patrickmentel8415 there are no running lights on 96 xjs just parking lights, your best bet is just buying a upgraded harness with relays. They are under 40 bucks
so i didn’t put the day time running light plug into anything but i installed them and they still light up when the car is started so i guess that means i have day time running lights
Mine do it too. If it is a wiring issue, it's inside the new light housing. I had an upgraded Delta housing so I could use xenon charged H4s before this and those didn't do that. I'm not very worried about it though.
@@USAFJUNKIE it might be the headlight dimmer switch/ blinker selector switch. Because when I turn on the Bright's with the headlight switch off they go off. When I turn on the lights they work fine in any mode. Could also be a shorted out headlight switch. I have not troubleshot it any further yet.
Scorpion717 E Did you guys ever figure out the cause of the headlights remaining on very dim when the switch was completely off? I just installed a set today and it’s doing just that to me. I figured it was a short in the switch but wanted to ask y’all before I go replacing the switch. Is it just the Chinese garbage housing in the new headlights? What did you guys do to fix it? Thanks
Unfortunately i just bought myself a jeep with these headlights. As much as i liked them, they dont fit properly into the headlight bucket and second is that the light points straight at the ground even with the headlight physically pointed upwards.
