In this video I install LED Headlights into my Jeep Cherokee XJ. These light are made by Zeus Lighting and are available from Olympus Offroad. These LED lights are DOT approved with a high and low beam and as an added benefit there are built in daytime running lights as well as blinkers built directly into the headlights. And you will blind every other driver on the road with them. I have heard somany people saying the same thing, people who use them don't care how they effect other drivers, I get an almost instant migrane headache.

I’m sorry that you have had a less than optimal experience with LED headlights. I would also like to inform you that when not adjusted properly, any headlight can cause this issue you are having including halogen and xenon bulbs. I do apologize for any inconvenience my headlights may have caused you.

love the video, just installed my new headlights in my 01 XJ in the freezing cold while it was snowing but it’s worth it because so much easier to see and it looks so much better than the factory lights!

Hey that's a great install. I appreciate the fact you show what you did and the before and after results. Just a side note I use a test light for most of my wiring on automotive and motorcycle projects. Testing for power on a blinker it'll actually blink with the light when your on that wire. Thank you for pointing out the "constant hot" wire you tapped into for the DRL. I just installed some of these headlights over the weekend and have been scratching my head looking for a place to tap into for the DRL feature. I also noticed that with headlight switch in the off position, I have just a faint glow on the low beam and DRL bulbs. I'm planning to install a new wiring harness with relays to take the power directly from the battery, that way no low voltage is flowing through the headlight switch, causing my dim glow when headlights are off. Similar new harness setup as to what you described doing on yours.

After running like this for a few months I would actually recommend tapping into the ignition wires under the dash and then going from that to a relay. My drl have been giving me a little trouble. But that could also be from the gremlins in the factory wiring that I’ve been dealing with.

@@ProjectVenture I found another location to tap into...it's Fuse #24 15AMP 1997-1999: Oxygen Sensor Downstream, Oxygen Sensor Upstream in the engine compartment fuse box. It's got power only when ignition key is in the start / run position. I used a micro fuse tap pigtail...placed a 15AMP fuse in that for the original fuse and then a 10AMP fuse for the DRL. My XJ is a 1999 model.

One thing you forgot to mention is that with this install when you use your high beams does the high beam indicator light in your cluster work?

Nice video. I think I found a switched (ignition on) source on my XJ in the fuse box under the hood- I plan on tapping into that fuse and running a wire from that to a relay for the DRLs. Do you think its necessary to use a relay for the turn lamps?

Thanks, I wouldn’t worry about an additional relay for your signal lights unless you are going to be running wiring all the way back to the cab. I just tapped straight into the existing turn signal wire with a jumper.

@@ProjectVenture I finished this job and decided using a relay was unnecessary for the DRLs as well. They pull such little power- I forgot how efficient LEDs were!
