That my friend is the American spirit! Tackle things outside of our comfort range and then CRUSH IT!!! No analysis paralysis!!! Just do it!!! You guys rock!!! What a beautiful day to build a garden enclosure! Your property looks great! Nice job with all the spring cleaning you and Tessa did! I was a bit surprised you were able to build that enclosure for under 200 smackers, especially with the price of everything now a days! I am surprised you did not have to donate a kidney! We were glad to see Tessa wearing ear pro. That was loud all the way over here! Between Tessa's brute strength and Lolly supervisory skills, that turned out pretty darn nice!!! I cannot recall a video that Lolly was in, and she was not by your side! I was wondering how you were going to make the entrance/exit. That is one slick garden enclosure for sure! It will keep all the critters out AND allow you guys easy access to take care of the garden! Once you build the final garden enclosure, you can repurpose those materials for another project. Do you have plans to store any of this year's harvest or do you plan to eat everything? If you plan to store food, we would love to hear how you guys’ plan to do it. BTW: It is cool you need to build one of those because of all the wildlife on your property!!! I am sure it can be a pain sometimes, but pretty cool other times! Love the night vision video of the deer you posted. I am guessing the rocks in the soil are one of the reasons there are not a lot of basements in your neck of the woods. Just about every home out here has one, but very few homes we looked at out there don't. There goes my man cave. Hmmm, might need to build a bigger shop!!! We noticed the whiskey barrels at the end. My Mom thinks those are for the strawberries Tessa wants to grow. I am thinking you guys are planning a fruit tree. Can't wait to see the next video and find out! Be well and stay safe!!!

Good to know the ground up north is just as full of rocks as it is down here

Yeah it's a real pain sometimes... I want to dig a hole for a smaller sized root cellar but am afraid of what I'm going to find underground.

You need to start learning how to save seeds from your garden, if you haven't already. When you buy plants from a big box store, they may not have grown the plants in your climate. They'll grow, but if they are grown, let's just say south Texas. They're not use to your growing season. It'll also give you a chance to do any cross pollination. I bought beefsteak tomato seeds 6yrs ago. Over the years, I've gotten them to produce anywhere from 1lb to 4lb tomatoes and by sheer luck, they are frost resistant down to 27°F and somewhat drought resistant.

Yeah I'd love to learn how to do that. I don't know the exact process of saving seeds, but I can imagine it has to do with drying them out and maybe storing them in a dark place? That makes sense too about buying the plants from a big box store.. which I've already done. All of my tomato and pepper plants are sitting inside currently in a bright spot soaking up the sun and awaiting to be planted. Sounds like you've made some awesome seeds. Any tips you may have I am all ears. Thanks for the advice, and for the support to the channel!

@@theidahopanhandlers This might get a little long, but it'll be informative. Also, any mention about water will be non- chlorinated water(I used distilled water). Best to use the biggest fruit/vegetable you have growing to save seeds. Tomatoes- Leave on the plant until ripe. I leave it on the plant until it's about ready to fall. Cut it open and scoop the seeds into a tall cup or mason jar. Fill with water. You'll need to leave it somewhere for a couple weeks to ferment the gel coating off the seeds. Just stir the seeds and water a few times during the fermentation. After a couple weeks, drain and rinse the seeds a few times, just leave the seeds in the cup. Fill with water one more time, stir and wait a little bit for the seeds to settle. You'll see some float. The seeds that float are bad, trash them. The seeds that sink are good. Drain the water and let the seeds dry on a paper towel for at least a week. Cucumbers- leave fruit on the plant until it turns orange and gets soft. Scoop the seeds in a cup and fill with water. You'll have to ferment the gel coating off the seeds like the tomatoes. After it's done and you have rinsed the seeds and trashed the seeds that float, dry the seeds on wax paper. Don't use anything else or it'll be more work. Cucumber seeds like to stick to everything. Dry for at least a week. Peppers, squashes, cantaloupe, watermelon- Leave on vine until about ready to fall off. Rinse seeds a few times, trash the seeds that float, and dry on a paper towel for at least a week. Okra, beans, corn- Leave on plant until the pods and cob are dry. I use a window screen to put the seeds on and let them dry for another week. No need to rinse or do a float test. Some okra pods can have around 100 seeds. So don't want to save more than a couple pods. I'm not sure about all okra varieties, but the seeds should be black. Those are all viable. If they look cream color, I just trash them On seed storage, there are plenty of ways. I bought seed envelopes off of Amazon. 500 envelopes for around $15 a few years ago. Another way is to get an organizer with pull out trays like for nuts and bolts. Other than that, keep in a dry place. If you need a desiccant pack to keep moisture out. You can buy them pre-made and in bulk online. Or you can make them. All you need is unscented silica cat litter and coffee filters. Put some litter in the filter and glue it shut. You could also get some natural fabric and sew up your own packets for the litter. If you need to dry them out, just place outside on a hot, dry day. I think that covers it, but if you have any questions, let me know
