Living life on our little chunk of Pacific Northwest Panhandle Heaven. Welcome to our page - 'The Idaho Panhandlers.' Here you'll find everything from Idaho living, to home projects on our property, road trips, and everything in between. The sky is the limit as to what will be posted on this channel. This is our life. This is North Idaho.
Hello from another fellow North Idaho channel! Would love to talk to you about who you bought from. Last year I won the Priest River loggers day log truck raffle and we are enjoying all of the logs ask firewood this last year. We definitely have decided this is the way to go and would love to find out who you used.❤❤
God, I love this video!!! We just finished watching the truck load of logs you had delivered video. Had to watch this again. One of your best videos ever my friend!!!
Whoa!!!!!! Now that is one HUMUNGOUS pile of firewood!!! Someone hit the firewood jackpot!!!! Damn!!! The Mighty Husqvarna chainsaw will definitely be getting a workout and so will you!!! Love the drone shot of the unloading. SUPER cool!!! I have to admit, we will miss your firewood gathering videos. We LOVED those!!! That one with the snow and fog in September is one of my favorites!!! Hopefully, trips to the mountains will be part of your supplementation process!!! Wow, you made 10 trips last year! I had no idea it took that many trips to get one season of firewood. As much as we will miss your firewood gathering videos, this is a brilliant move. We will absolutely follow your battle plan. We will make sure we purchase enough firewood for 2 seasons, then supplement throughout the year to hopefully get to the point where we have a 5-year supply. That might be a bit aggressive, but we will reevaluate as we increase our inventory. We are totally stealing your idea. 😊 Thank you for sharing it and sharing the costs. Now I can budget. Hey, maybe one day you can do a review of your Husqvarna. I have been in the Stihl camp for a while. I would love to know why you picked the Husqvarna. That is a substantial cost savings. Almost half. In my opinion, that is a no brainer. You can always take a trip to get some firewood when you want to spend time outdoors, BUT the beauty is you do not NEED to go. Not to mention, with the price of trucks now a days, you probably added 5 years to your vehicle’s life span!!! How long do you think it would take to process that much timber. Yikes!!! I am taking a wild guess, but I will say 150 hours. Am I even close or did I miss that by a country mile? 😊 Wow, what a great perspective shot of you next to the timber pile when you are marking the chopping lengths. Damn, that is a big pile of wood. My friend, you should be set for a zombie apocalypse. Hehehehe, love the shot when you are marking the lengths on the logs and Lolly is SNOOZING peacefully in the background. All that commotion and she does not even blink!!! Oh, good Lord, how is your one spine doing??? Man, you cut and stacked a LOT of wood. Hehehehehehe, 6' 8", brother, you are 10' 8" in heart alone!!!! Did you mention you had a wood splitter? Is this something new? We would LOVE to see a video on how you process firewood. Oh man, you have no idea how much we loved this video!!! We are definitely going to follow in your footsteps and get a truckload of logs!!! Great way to spend a Sunday evening!!! Can’t wait to see the next video!!! Be well and stay safe my friend!!!
We like it a lot! We do the same thing in Michigan but yes we get hardwoods, mostly oak. We go through about 14 cords of split wood each winter. Definitely share a video of splitting it!
14 cords.. My lord. I feel up to my ears with needing roughly four 😂 Thanks for verifying the burning of the hardwoods! I burned some dry maple last year that I found for free online and it was awesome stuff. I’ll film the splitting for sure. Thank you so much for your support and for watching the video!
Let me guess. A Sabertooth tiger? 😅 😂😊 That looked like a baby raccoon. My Mom said, glad it didn't get inside!!! Glad you discovered before it did any damage. Beware of the rest of the family! 😊
If I didn’t know any better I’d think your first guess is right on the money. Now I’m trying to figure out how to get it out as it seems frightened and won’t move 🤔 I am definitely keeping an eye out for the family.. Lolly on the other side.. not so much and is very intrigued.
Just get a live trap and put some cat food in it. Coons will eat right along with any outdoor pets. I live out in the country and trap coons and opossums all the time. I just caught a young opossum 2 weeks ago, he was drinking out of a water bowl and I walked right up to him and herded him into a storage tote and carried him a few miles away and released him in a wooded lot.
Oh wow!!! You guys super sized last year's crops!!! We have grown most of those through out the year. You will be a happy camper!! 😊 especially the raspberry bushes. Ours spread like wild fire. Hopefully you will have bumper crops this Fall. Can't wait to see more!! 😀👍
Sure did! Added some much need space for the year, and I'm still hoping to do the same with an actual permanent garden here someday. Hoping it'll happen this year! The raspberry bushes multiplied like crazy this year! Looking forward to sharing the harvest videos with ya!
I just have 2 barrel halves that I'm growing potatoes in. The barrel was cut longways, so they are 22in x 33in. 2 more weeks left before I pull them and plant more potatoes. We never got the cold front last week. Temps were around 85 here in the texas panhandle. This week the highs are going to be between 100-105, lows around 75. Next little cold snap y'all get, turn on some fans outside facing southeast.
That's wild. Hoping you get a big harvest. We should be in the clear now. We've had a couple of days in the high 80's this week and the garden is loving it.
@@theidahopanhandlers my garden ain't loving this heat. How I have the barrel halves set up, drainage holes are about 2in from the bottom so it will be saturated in the morning and wick up throughout the day. I'm having to do a light watering in the evening with the heat. The way the extended forecast looks, it's going to be a hot summer. Coldest temp until July 10th will be this Friday at 95°
Depending on how cold those late frosts gets, you could make a hot compost pile on the northern and eastern sides and tarp the rest. The compost pile will help block the wind and the wind will help blow the warm air to the plants
