Cheap and great alternative way to sharpen your band saw blades! woodland mill hm 126 bandsaw 

Please forgive me if I am silly but...Blades are made by first cutting the tooth and gullet. That process causes the sharpening of teeth. Then the teeth are set left, right and left center. So the sharpened edges are twisted away from when formed. In contrast,,,,,We sharpen a dull blade with the teeth set. So our sharpened teeth derive a very different (and uniform) cut angle. This does not seem to be what occurred initially during blade formation,. Am I incorrect?

Just did this for the first time today, works like a charm. Then I put a round file in my drill to clean between the teeth. I lost my Dremel I have no idea how I did that.

Just watched your video, no one around me sharpens blades so I'm gonna try your method. If anything I can at least get them sharp enough to can't my logs for later milling.

Its very on consistent i don't believe it's going to work good. Seems to me you can ruined blade so easily, not worth it

Yes sir, I started this a few years ago. It works great, up is time consuming. I bought a tooth setter through Amazon for about $35. It's easy to set and go.

I trusted you on going with the thicker blades and you were right.

Folks, this really works! I took my old Harbor Freight Chainsaw sharpener and the very first blade I did worked like new! Now to try one of those $40 tooth setters offered on Ebay! Thanks.

Thanks for sharing your idea, It looks like the blade is rattling during sharpening, and nothing controls the tooth from rolling, you can add a small contraption to make it perfect. God bless!

You grinding wrong part of blade.Wrong way giving wrong result.You change hook angle from 10 degree to -1 to +1 degree.

Your taking the hook angle off.

I can appreciate that you want to save some money and sharpen your blades yourself. But you are ruining your blades for your resharpen service. They are not going to want to sharpen those because the profile is now changed. Do yourself a favor and purchase a inexpensive blade sharpener instead. Sorry not trying to disrespect your video.
