Absolutely brilliant video which really does bring home to the older generation of mechanic who previously only used a multimeter just how vitally important a good oscilloscope is for diagnostics. Even on older vehicles it is clear from watching this video that oscilloscopes have tremendous potential for diagnosing intermittent faults. I am thankful these scopes are getting cheaper which makes them more accessible to ordinary mechanics. Keep these scope videos coming. It is far better to see a mechanic demonstrating their practical use under real workshop conditions before watching some of these other RU-vid videos and getting blinded by science.
Hi. Thanks for the video. I have indeed purchased right now, one of the Ditex scopes (I went for the plus or pro whatever, it was a nicer colour) and I was looking mostly how it held up against obviously a pico. I do like the fact you pinned the comment about the Autel. I believe Autel use a version of the Hantek interface that you can buy for £70 and then their on board tablet "app" with it's notable quirks. I have an Autel - good tool if you stay within it's strengths. But wait until the touch screen or power button common problems occur (Look for Joe's words of advice on that) And as an end note, every work shop I have ever known that is in demand and stacked out with work, is "messy" . I would say you are doing just fine. Thanks again for taking the time to put out your video
A proper scope with a DIY price. I like it. My Hantek was only$100 but it doesn't do have the things that scope does. Plus the cable leads are so short they are almost useless. Thanks for the demo Leon.
It's all about interaction with the software as well... this looks less complicated to use than something like the Pico, where there are way too many buttons, options, drop-down menus etc. Even gets me all confused. That's the main reason I have not yet upgraded from my Snap-On scopes... I need / like simple and this looks like it is.
A nice addition to the kit would be some colored (oops coloured) plastic rings that would affix to each scope probe. That way each probe would be matched to the channel color. When you're using multiple probes and switching them around to various test points; you always end up tracing the cable back to the scope.... which of course is facing away from you. Just my 2 cents. (or tape of different colors)
A lot of modern laptops don't have LAN ports however USB to Ethernet converters are cheap and automatically install under Windows 10. The Amazon Basics ranges has a good USB to LAN dongle at a decent price.
Most people's laptops especially when they are in a workshop environment will have a LAN cable any tough but got anything like that does so I don't think we'll have to worry about that
Hello question, I need to know if the Carscope Plus Oscilloscope is suitable for the Can network signal due to the bandwidth that it has very low of 2 mhz?

Its zooming capabilities and its data recording length time is the most important thing, if you can only record 20 seconds of deep recording data then it is not worth much
This would do about 85% of the work no problem at all this is a beginner's scope and will be perfect for anybody who is trying to get into the field or needs a scope to test most things even my pico over £5,000 still has its limitations this is a very very cheap and brilliant scope for the price of it you cannot complain if you are doing more advanced stuff then you will have a more advanced scope
My 5000 pico scope on full will not record for this long give me one example where you would need this recording in an automotive environment if you are monitoring a car and it does something strange you can pause the scope look back on the frames and see exactly what's going on so you do not need to do what you are saying in the automotive field

Great video my friend. That looks like ignition coil secondary. I have the picoscope 4425 but I am looking to buy this for road testing. 1. Can you tell me will a lan to USB adapter work? My surface has no lan. 2. Do the green bumpers come standard? I didn’t see them on it on the product page only the pro?

I can't find a price now,or supplier of this scope anywhere?I did have the ditex carscope viso which was too small,and the battery life was horrific(uses battery when off seemingly)but,a huge amount was crammed into the little carscope viso,if the screen had been three or four inches larger and a really good battery,and a four channel they would have flown off the shelves!
Dang, seriously considering buying one, but its 1054 us dollars(944 euros)from the us Distribitor. So much for thinking it would be just under 300 us dollars.. :(
