I just bought the Lap socket because it got 4.5☆ review on Screwfix. Maybe because it's a newer design because the socket is a different design from the one in your review. So the reviews could be for the newer design.

I like round tunnel terminals as they tend to push the conductors together and both rest under the screw...

how about deta and scolmore click also cef sell a really nice square edge range called omega now called m2 square i have installed loads of the omega (M2 square) same stuff just renmae and they feel really solid and work well i like m2 square for square edge accessories

I personally think click are ok, but the feel a little cheap, especially the screw terminals. And I don't touch deta with a barge pole, they were (and still are I think) fitted into new builds (dwh, Barrett, etc). I had to replace around 70% due to failures.

@@ChampionsOfTheTrade deta and bg are bad news as bg is bodged into new builds have you tried cefs own range M2 Square (formuly omega) I've installed loads and there really good

@@kierantvyoutube3591 BG are ok, I've used a lot of their products, but they're now too expensive against better brands. I don't generally use CEF, I also find them as a whole very expensive.

What do you think about MK Logic Plus? £3.69 at Screwfix. Worth the extra £1?

I like them. In fact, with the price increase of the BG range, I've started to move more towards the likes of MK, though I suspect that these prices will soon increase too. For the most part, I always try to match the existing style within a property or use what the customer prefers, within reason. The £3.69 MK is a double pole socket (The ones in the video are SP). Given the choice/budget, I will always fit DP. Personally I just prefer the idea of being able to turn off both line and neutral.

How do Hager sockets compare to Schneider?

I like both of them, Schneider are cheaper but I prefer the look of the Hager. Both quality items though and never had to replace any that I've fitted due to failure.

@@ChampionsOfTheTrade Would be interesting to see you do the video but with the more expensive sockets MK, Legrand, Ultimate etc. and see if the extra features justify the cost.
