In this video we explore a cheap alternative to a short tunnel there are many Ski Doo Summit SP's that could really benefit from having a short tunnel. This is a great way with out having to actually cut the tunnel. This worked out great I didn't have any over heating issues and felt a massive improvement in agility. The skis came up easier and the sled was able to get on top of the snow easier. My brother and I had a blast! Hopefully this help some of you that may want to get a little more performance out of your Summit SP.

I have a 600 summit just like this one and love it. Underrated engine for sure!

For sure! Removing the snow flap has helped we were out yesterday and my brother road this 600 and it went everywhere my turbo went maybe not as easily or fast but it got the job done. A good shock setup make a world of difference as well. Maybe I should do a video on that process. 🤔 haha

@@BTHAlaska going to try that out with the snow flap. I live at low elevation in eastern Canada so the 600 does just fine, would love to try the new turbo sleds one day though. Shocks are definitely on my list of future upgrades

@@NelsonBodiedU Yeah at low elevation the 600 does just fine. I might be installing a clutch kit on it. One of the Ski Doo Ambassadors up here developed a clutch kit for low elevation since most of the mountains are around 4000-5000 feet. He says it gets the 600 close to an 850 so that would be kind of cool.

I also have that 600R summit in 146. I didn't remove the flap entirely, but I cut it in half along the seam of it. I have the limiter strap one step looser than stock, and it sure wheelies super easy now.

We initially cut the flap along that same seem mainly because it kept folding under the tunnel any time it was in reverse but then I just decided to remove it completely. I haven’t had any issues with over heating and it seems to be way more playful!

limiter strap tight and loose would be cool to see how the sled handles, cool video fun to watch

@@cjmrcjmr I really thought about showing the difference I just couldn’t make it happen in the one day I had to film everything. I’m sure I could get those skis up pretty easily if the limiter strap was loose though. Thanks for watching!

@@Liam-uc9xk Yeah we will be putting one on before next season. We just wanted to see if we could get away with not running a snow flap at all. Seemed to work pretty darn well.

Do your GoPro batteries hold up in cold weather? I have always had this problem. I went to a Osmo Action camera. Probably solved.
@BTHAlaska

I’ve often wondered if the Osmo’s batteries were better. The GoPro is hit or miss. Sometimes they work at 0°F and other times they die in five minutes at 30°F. The best thing I’ve been able to do is make a elastic cover to hold a hand warmer to the back of the GoPro. How long of record time do you get out of the Osmo in the cold?
@n2snow
@n2snow 2 года назад
@@BTHAlaska I rode Petersville yesterday and it ran an hour and a half without a blink. It was zero temp. The osmo only cost $199.

@@n2snow No way I was out in Petersville yesterday too. Haha. I got about an hour out of my GoPro battery.

You lost me at 600

Haha yeah. Had to do anything I could to make it clear out the snow so it doesn’t lose any power.
