In this video, I demonstrate how I convert my 8x T-105 Trojan 6V golf cart batteries into 4x 12V Everstart 24DC batteries. Both of these options are 48V which is what my cart needs, the only difference is I’m saving anywhere from 100 to 250 pounds in minimizing battery quantity as well as money. Each Trojan T-105 battery cost anywhere from $150-$250 each whereas the Everstart 24DC battery only cost $89 each. I am saving anywhere from $1,000 to $1500 or more, in this option.
Keep in mind when converting from 6V to 12V and saving weight and money and also comes with the longevity of how far you can drive your cart on a single charge. Carts that have a lower volt will tend to drive longer per charge than higher volt batteries. I will go ahead and State that I have driven mine for 3-4 days on a single charge and have driven it all over the place. I would say my driving was at least 36 holes worth of golf. Also, 12v batteries tend to have more torque up front compared to 6v. The bigger the battery or volts equals more power.
