So much amazing food to come from this artsy, college, food packed city!
I wouldn’t be able to do any of this without my friend Andre. Andre is one of the most influential food bloggers in Yogyakarta and surrounding areas. You can find his work in places like:

We started the morning off in a morning market where I thought it was a good idea for a double plate breakfast, but I clearly didn’t know what Andre had in store for the day. After that we walked the market and continued to snack on various things you can find.
After that, we headed out to another market. This time a market with a much larger Chinese influence as we ate some Indo-Chinese dishes before setting off for some Chinese-Indo noodles.
The noodles were fabulous and really hit the spot. Nice and meaty with a kick of sweetness. However, I quickly changed that as I dumped a bottle of chili sauce in my bowl. Also the fried wontons were light, greasy, and oh so crunchy!
After a quick break, we finished the day off eating at a Padang restaurant. One of my favorite meals ever! I just love Padang style meals so much. I loaded mine up with an assortment of goodies, but made sure to get my favorite, Beef Rendang. To say it was magical would be an understatement.
