Some storage under the front deck would be handy. I’ve seen a lot of these conversions and just think of it as a work in progress. You’ll figure out what extra luxuries you want to add when you’re out fishing on it. Great video

Hey JT - New subscriber. I am enjoying your bass boat build. Your enthusiasm is inspiring! My only point of concern so far is that I think your wiring for the trolling motor is too thin. A trolling motor draws alot of current. Too light of gauge of wire causes high resistance which makes heat. Too much heat and you've got a fire! Best thing to do is to look at your Ranger and use the same thickness of wire that they used for the TM on that boat. It's usually 6 gauge wire and you can get it on Amazon pretty reasonable. Get you some decent ring terminals for the heavier wire too. You are going to learn a ton building this boat, but you gotta be safe out there!😄
Best way to thread the cable through both holes would be to use something long and hard *input joke now* and then use a load of tape on the cable when you see both ends of the stick and just pull it through. Shouldn't get stuck on anything
Love these videos and projects like this. Btw your garage looks bigger than my whole flat here in the UK (I live a stone's throw away from Wales). A few little projects of my own have helped me maximise the space, though. Keep up the good work!
That’s the ole gucci John boat there the only thing to call it! Well damn done sir. Throw a 15 hp engine on there and you’d have a great little pond hopper with endless travel ability basically
That wire you added looks a lil small for a trolling motor mines only a 45lb and draws 42 amps max which on a 10 foot ish run would need a 6awg wire to not wanna melt the insulation or severely limit trolling motor performance

nice job.... instead of the carpet i would have put some rubber bathroom mats down (same proses as the carpet) and put the wires through a 10mm tube with small brackets either side.
Did the boat come with the title? Idk what Kentucky law is but in nc we have to have it registered to even put a trolling motor on. I just got a 12ftx36in boat but with no title. I was wondering if it was a huge deal or whatever. I mainly plan on pond hopping with it
Nope my boat didn't have a title or anything, but I got the guy I bought it from to write me a "bill of sale" just to show he had it and sold it to me. Then I took that up to the courthouse and filled out some paperwork and paid like $60 to get it registered! It wasn't too hard, just took a lot of signatures lol I'm not sure about NC but that's how I got it done here in KY!
JT man just a quick question…. How long it take you in journey time to a decent hardware store? In UK I’ve never been more than 30 mins from a “decent” hardware outlet… fire channel
The trips to Home Depot(hardware store) from my house takes me about 57 minutes. But thats if I need wood or more complex tools, if I just need basic materials Walmart is about a 30 minute drive!
Tarps have tiny holes in them. I still don't understand why people use them to cove roof after storm damage.. The thick visqueen is way better for a temporary cover and cheaper
You should call the boat the QLII (Queen Lizzie II)! BTW, I fear “I don’t need to do a leak test” is going to be a callback in a future video while you’re sinking like Captain Jack Sparrow! 😂
