I hate to sound like a broken record, but mike I can't wait to see what you do next. You along with some other channels I watch prove that with a few tools and some research that almost anyone can work on their own vehicles. It's just more entertaining to see you do it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Also lola is such a great supervisor. Stay safe and God bless.
Seems like a lot to undo to get a window regulator installed. Glad you knew how to do it. Love your videos... keep doing what you do! Looking forward to the next video!
Man you were a lifesaver, I just had the window on my CLK550 get stuck half open and it wouldnt move. Used this video step by step and just finished, half of a saturday and saved myself who knows how much from a shop to do the same.
@@wernerdanler2742 There are a couple of excellent step by step videos on RU-vid I watched so it went well. If it wasn’t for those I would have been in trouble.
This is good. I just picked up a 06’ CLK 500. Of course neither rear window works nor the seatbelt concierge. But I just love this body style so it’ll be work the work over time.
Great video Mike, I’m about to follow your step by step process on my 2005 CLK55 AMG cabriolet A209 to fix the rear window regulator First thing I did I ran into trouble. Undid the 2 Phillips tip screws on the door pillar and removed the small plate and rubber seal and pulled down the door seal. Then looked for the little hook that releases the interior door panel. There is none! Maybe MB changed the system on the later cars Can you offer some advice on this or at least, some tips how I remove the panel given no release hook I am able to simply pop off the upper part of the panel but don’t want to start prying things off in case I damage something Thanks
I really appreciate your helpful video. My 2002 Mercedes 320CLK convert just needs the back window height adjusted. It goes 1/4 inch higher than the front drivers window and has caused tearing of the rubber molding when put up. Is that a much easier job than the regulator issue? I saw the tree bolts adjustment you spoke of.
What a quick little excursus into the world of over-engineering. Thanks. Did you pull the sidebag fuse or unplug the battery? An explosive filled airbag package makes one feel a little uneasy. A thing that no W140 red pig needs, both airbags and uneasy feelings 😁😁
Another great and educational video Mike, but what happened to the update on the Duck's? ☹ Seriously though, you are a braver man than me to tackle something like that, well done Sir. 👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😁
Monkey 🐒 Wrench 🔧 Mike! Oh the Frohlocken is back on! The rear windows on my 1997 S600 Coupe were pretty similar. Same issue, broke plastic which then led to the wire curling up, oh what a job that was! Great job Mike! Your buddy Peter from Kansas
I just rebuilt my rear regulator on my 1999 CL500 (C140). I have a Very good question. I dont see a connector like the one you connected for this up and down feature. Upon reconnecting the motor and rolling the window down for 10 seconds and then, up for 10 seconds (to re-train the motor revolutions). So, in normal operation when the window is up, the rear window is down about 3mm or so, which is standard while the front door is open. Then, BOTH the front and rear window go up (as it should) to create the seal. The issue that I am having is the window goes back down those 3mm and stays that way. Every time I open the door, the same thing occurs. Rear window goes up then half a second later it goes down 3mm and stays down. What is happening, and what may I do to repair this fluke? Your videos were EXCEPTIONAL and very helpful in my rebuild. Cheers on ya for that. I look forward to hearing back from you, sir.
Received my stickers today in the UK, thanks Mike. I'll send pictures in situ tonight on a car you've never seen cos they don't sell in the US unfortunately.
Hi my rear quater window won't open all I can hear is a click on that side everytime I try to open it what can it be? Btw the same switch controls the front which works
Yesterday I fix my right window but when I push the button doesn't want to go all the way down. Also when I open my door the window go a little down not how it should be. When I push it it goes all the way down whit open door but does not want to do it self. Any idea why? 😢😢😢

@Perry Elyod You mean those plastic popup things that break the first time someone tries to use them? I still have pieces of those somewhere in my 01 e320. Lol
My 85 300d had those and they were bolted in so fairly easy job. My 01 e320 are cable mechanisms and they are riveted. The back are actually not bad. Just 4 rivets. The front is a complex thing with 9 rivets. I've replaced both back ones and right front.
I can't really fault the person that opted to wire shut a rarely used window instead of paying big bucks for a proper repair or dedicating 3 days of their life to do it themselves.
Just what type of drugs are the MERCEDES Engineers on where you have to REMOVE an exterior molding that's hiding a bolt so you can take something off INSIDE in order a rear window work and then add spools of wire? HEY, I love the cars but come on with this engineering fiasco! MONKEY WRENCH is SO tolerant an individual and we all learn LOTS from him (plus he's a good guy!) Sonny
Is there anytging on this window that prevents the top from opening all the way, on the convertible version? Like a switch to let the system know when the wi dows are all the way down? This is how far my top gets when opening it. But it did this before the window wouldn't roll down. So not sure if a switch is there or not? Maybe it's just coincidence that this happened right after the top quit working? ru-vid.com9Wl-5BqNOwk?feature=share
Overly engineered, unnecessarily complicated and then you use a cheap fragile plastic part for the most critical element! What a load of Rose fertilizer.
