138mph is a pretty steep increase from the claimed 121mph top speed. I have a 2007 yaris 1.8 TS, and have (on closed roads) hit upwards of 115mph, but there is no way it could reach 138. The RPMs dont go high enough for it to reach it without being deep into the red. Love to see that people appreciate this hidden gem of a car though and best of luck with the build.

Really looking forward to this project - make sure you sort the water leak out, probably rear lights or bumper vents

Nice compact video format instead of the 45minute normal length other channels do . Get a metal head gasket made at 4mm thick that will lower compression for the turbo to be fitted and maybe increase cubic capacity to 1.9 . Just need Vernier pullys for timing , around £100 and modify the cam chain tensioner.

Deadly project. Don’t get a cheap turbo it will end in bits. Get a second hand turbo & custom manifold to suit. Throw in a half cage & it could make a savage track car

if your keyless entry starts giving issues when starting the engine , hold the key fob next to the ring of the start button while pressing start, it hard RFID for low/no battery cases.

Thing you found in the boot I believe is the boot that goes over the back of the main bulb on the headlight - looked like that at least when I changed the bulb on me bros Yaris yesterday 😉

I'm sure this will be the same toyota engine Lotus used in the Elise. Should be bolt on supercharger kits for it.

Transform this into a track car relive your youth take it to a local track as is, then strip it everything to make it faster for free track it, then suspension track it, then wheels and tyres track it, then full exhaust from the boys in Scotland track it, then turbo it air filter injectors all tuning stuff then guess what TRACK IT. That's what I'd like to see as a 1.8 won't be a slouch n if you set it up right would be loads of fun and bring in the views I'll even be pit crew. Let's see that boys 👍
